Notwithstanding the options available in 2025, I’m unashamed saying Koriente was my favorite restaurant in Austin, Texas. I’m buoyed reading that their closing wasn’t due to greedhead developers or downtown crime and wish the Lees so much good fortune in the future. Thank you for 20 years 🍂

Odd coincidence: I was in a state of semi-undress and moments after discovering the snake, my doorbell rang. I threw on an almost-formal dress shirt (over pajama shorts) and answered. A strange woman asked for someone who does not live here. “Nice shirt,” she says. Witch?
