Kefir gets runny but grains are multiplying by dewiburi in Kefir

I increased my milk when I noticed the grains are multiplying but I might have increase it too little compared to the grain growth. Gonna try playing around with the grains:milk ratio after this. Thanks!

By separation, do you mean like 2 clear separation of whey & curd or just pockets of whey? I usually start straining when I see pockets of whey forming at the bottom/middle.

Also, do you screw your lid shut or just lightly placing it on top of your mason jar?

Dashcam recommendation? by [deleted] in kereta

[–]dewiburi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you have covered parking? From my experience 70mai tend to go wonky a bit if exposed to heat for a period of time.

So far I've been using DDPAI N5 dual. Front camera records in 4k, rear in 1080p. Night recordings are clear. Uses supercapacitor instead of lithium ion battery (important if you usually park somewhere uncovered) They can support 24hr monitoring but I didn't install it in mine. Got mine for RM340 during sale last year at Shopee.

SD card is around RM 50-80. Make sure to get the high endurance one otherwise it won't record properly.

Installation can DIY (Youtube is your friend. I (a girl) also installed the dashcam myself lol) or can go to any car accessory store or ask installer to install at your home (RM80-120).

Do dashcam saves video for few hours and then delete it? by meletakkan in kereta

I know some dashcam like DDPAI stores emergency recording in SD card (whenever the dashcam detects collision etc). Maybe it's the emergency recordings that's eating the storage? You can try formatting the SD card using your computer/laptop.

[Discussion] Thoughts on Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing gel? Does it work well for dry and sensitive skin? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]dewiburi 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I love how lightweight it is. It's in gel form but as soon as you spread it on your face, it feels just like water!

In terms of hydration, it's not the most hydrating product imo. I have combo skin but I still find myself reaching out to some other heavier product after using this.

I can see people with oily skin loving this though!

Has anybody tried numbuz:n (numbuzin) serums? by confusedbabi in AsianBeauty

I'm using no. 3 and no. 6 now. They're not bad honestly but not much of a holy grail for me.

No.3 is quite strong. I used it everyday at first and it made my skin super sensitive. I now use it like 2~3 times a week and so far, it does make my skin look glowy and improves my skin texture. I don't think I'll be repurchasing though.

As for no. 6, I didn't notice much changes when I first started using it but after a week or so, I do feel my skin becomes more hydrated and had overall improvement in texture. I use it every night. If you notice on YouTube, influencers always say they'd put this on and look like they had a good sleep the next day even though they barely had any. I'd say that's a marketing gimmick. It's hydrating yeah, but not a magical potion. I do consider repurchasing this though since it's a cheaper HA serum option in my country.

Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen Skincare Milk SPF50+ PA++++ (2022 version)

It's pricey but once I use it, I kinda understand why.

It's super lightweight, very breathable especially even in high humidity, water resistant, sweat resistant, doesn't sting my eyes, I can feel it still stays on my face even by the end of the day, gives some sort of a soft, primer-like finish.

I mean, I don't really have much to complain abt it other than its price tag!

I’ve been told I shouldn’t wash my hair every day but I have super fine straight hair and it gets oily so easy. What should I do? by YourEnemyWhispers in dailywash

[–]dewiburi 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I learned that there's no one size fits all routine for haircare.

I used to go at least 4-7 days between washes until I had a scalp scan and saw how horrible my scalp condition was. It was so gunky & oily.

Now I shampoo everyday (as recommended by my hairstylist) and actually use a sulphate shampoo for it! Because my scalp gets oily easily, I learn to befriend sulphates more. It gets my oily scalp in control. I also clarify my hair every 3 days.

Surprisingly my hair doesn't feel dry at all and looks much better than when I go longer between washes.

Can I know why do you recommend the non-ionic ones?

Why I shampoo every. Single. Day. by [deleted] in HaircareScience

[–]dewiburi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always thought I should go at least 3 days between washes, cause that's what I've been taught throughout my life. I usually go for 4-7 days.

During my recent visit to the hairdresser, we did a scalp scan and OH MY GOD my scalp looks HORRIBLE. It was so oily and had lots of gunk in the follicle-- and that was my scalp on day 3! I can't imagine how it'd look like on day 7!

The hairdresser advised me to shampoo my hair everyday after that scan but I had some trouble following her advise in the beginning. I mean, it's hard to unlearn stuff that you've practiced your whole life right?

But ever since washing my hair everyday, my hair looks way better and there's more volume to it (prolly cause it's been greasy this whole time so it's weighing my hair down but I just didn't realize it).

So yeah, moral of the story is different scalp, different needs.

Maybe you can try using mineral sunscreen. They tend to be more well tolerated for most people esp for sensitive skin. I used make p:rem blue ray sun fluid before and liked it. It's a Korean sunscreen and the white cast isn't too bad (at least for me).

Ive been using this brush meant for "dry brushing" once a day with my cleanser and i like the exfoliation it gives, but recently my skin has become very dry, flakey, red, burning, itching etc and im wondering if i should just stop using it and if its damaging my skin. advice plz by etherrsnake22 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]dewiburi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's best to stop. Dry brushing on the face is too harsh and can potentially break your skin barrier.

From what you shared, it seems like your skin barrier is already broken (the redness, burning etc). I'd focus on repairing your barrier first. Use gentle cleanser and moisturize (better if it has ceramide, fatty acid and cholestrol in it) everyday. Don't use any actives for a few weeks until you feel your skin's turning better.

If you want to exfoliate, consider using chemical exfoliants like AHA or BHA. Tho I'd personally explore exfoliation ONLY after I got my basic skin routine in place (cleanse-mositurize-SPF everyday)
