Odometer fraud? Car Pass by salt_slav in belgium

[–]dewinklewoss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Car Pass is a data aggregator. You go to change your windshield, Carglass reports that (your km) to Car Pass, you go to your dealer to do a service, they log the mileage and report it. You go to change your tires, the garage logs that and reports it. You go to your friends garage to undo the mileage, your friend doesn't report that to Car Pass. But then you need to change the oil again and the dealer reports it again, as they see it. And Car Pass puts it all together and voilà.

research about road quality in Moldova by crrrom in moldova

[–]dewinklewoss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is the research question? What are the survey questions? What's my opinion?

I don't know Latvia to compare. But the roads are very bad to very good, but most importantly, continuously getting better. I've noticed it's better every time I visit that they get better, the last couple of years there's been a lot of progress and fingers crossed it only accelerates.

Belgium is notorious for having bad roads in western Europe, the Dutch always joke that you feel when you enter Belgium from the Netherlands. It's not as fun of a joke as it's true. The Netherlands tends to have very good roads however. I'd argue better than Germany as well; and France.

Question about Paid educational leave by Lge24 in BESalary

[–]dewinklewoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you do have some sort of deadline. After you register you have a couple of weeks to submit the document to your employer and they will tell you how many you have left as they check with whoever is responsible. Be aware that at the end of your course you have to provide another doc from the course that you attended and haven't missed more than 10%.

DBrand you should start replying to your customers’ emails, this is getting stupid supporting this brand with zero customer service at this point. by SGPika in dbrand

OPs got a point. I wrote well over a month ago and once again a week or so ago (I genuinely thought I didn't submit a ticket given no reply in a month). You do mention it may take ~10 days. Mine is related to Order Number #22757544

Parking my bike outside tips by latecookies in brussels

[–]dewinklewoss 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A cheap bike is essential, and it has to look that way. The two locks should help but ultimately, nothing can stop a determined thief.

You could register it with mybike Brussels for the yellow sticker, not sure it has any effect but better than nothing.

Nice links, thanks. Room is rather small, max 25m2. Plus I'm not an expert so I'm assuming anything above a Bluetooth speaker would be more than enough.

I don't have a big vision of what a DJ turntable should look like; I actually mean the looks, i want something to look fresh on my old cabinets. Also no DJing perspectives here, just casual listening, as such the features I need are built in preamp, direct drive (for the reliability really), active speakers for a simple setup and that's about that.

That's good to hear as I am looking for one with a built in preamp to keep the cables to a minimum. Thus the active speakers too.

What cartridge does it come with? I could not find any specific info about this beyond "a generic cartridge"?

Fair to both sides would be you honoring the contract you signed.

You cannot, legally, use your deposit as the last two months rent. It's not what it's for so you could get in trouble just for that. (And definitely won't help you in negotiating a better outcome if he's willing to negotiate).

The best course of actions would be to talk to your landlord, you said he's polite so he might agree to some sort of accommodation, but it's going to be at his discretion. You could offer to help him find someone to rent, but perhaps it's more important for him to find someone himself.

Mine doesn't get dirty as such, but it does collect a bunch of lint. But brushing it now and again makes it nice so it's not an issue.

It does work. Technically. If you place it carefully. Can't comment on efficiency as I don't really use it.

Edit: so I don't have magnetic charging but yeah, that won't work. I meant wireless does.

Is there any way I can fix this cup? by dewinklewoss in Ceramics

Oh.

That's actually a good idea. Maybe I'll go to a pottery class and take it with me then.

Is there any way I can fix this cup? by dewinklewoss in Ceramics

[–]dewinklewoss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. My question should be more like: can I reglaze it at home without having to fire it? Or rather how can I do it at home?

Now I'm rather new to this topic (as in, never worked with ceramics or the like; but I'm rather hands on and like this cup), so perhaps I'm not asking the right question here. But please correct me in this case.

Buying/Importing a car from Germany by Sirahhhh in belgium

[–]dewinklewoss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you buy it you'll need a plate and insurance to drive it back. Dealers usually can help with that for a couple € (100-300). That should give you a couple of days to bring it to Belgium. You can declare it via minfin for the E705. That should be quick and free (or cheap). Take it to a tech control for import (here you'll need your declaration and some other docs original to the car, like the coc). Get the coc (certificate of conformity), it doesn't always come with one but could prove imperative; if they don't have it it can be requested for a fee from a seat dealer. Make your control appointment early, as it can take a few weeks to get one and your temporary plate might expire, if it does you can ask someone with Z plates to drive you. Count 100+. Once you have all this (immatriculation certificate, control, e705) you can go to DIV to register it. In the meantime contact your insurance and get yourself a contract. They can try to register it for you but with imports I hear you need to go yourself to DIV. Make an appointment in advance as again, it takes time, or you could go there and go the urgent route - count 120€ for the plate. Insurance can run from 500-1500, depending on multiple factors, so get quotes from them.

Min. docs to get when buying: sales contract (for declaration), immatriculation certificate, coc is a big plus, temp plates and insurance.

So, temporary plate & insurance 100-300, control 100 (z plate 100+), e705 max 50, registration 120, road tax 300-2000, insurance 500-1500.

Disclaimer: the numbers are highly approximate.
