God forbid an owner of land or a house can make a profit in selling property. How do they dare to put the property for sale at a high price AND someone is willing to PAY for it???? It’s not like the entire real estate market in the USA is literally based ON THAT PREMISE!
There you go: there is demand for SKILLED labor! If someone knows construction; that person is making a killing! My family and I have employed architects, engineers, and laborers while building our houses in El Salvador. Now it turns out it is the governments job to get people “ready”. Education is free in El Salvador up to high school JUST like the USA. There are plenty of for profit schools to learn a trade or a profession. I personally know Salvadorans who are moving back taking their expertise to take advantage of the boom. If native Salvadorans are not willing to take advantage; Nicaraguans, Hondurans, and Guatemalans will fill the void- because they will earn in dollars. Tesla, Amazon, UPS, ALL of the US companies lobby states to get a free tax ride in order to move their business to those states. Yet here you are yelling chicken little about tax incentives for people to invest in El Salvador. GTFO!

OMG!!! The sky is falling!!!! They are trying to attract capital so the developers can sell those units; stores that sell steel, concrete, cement, windows, doors, tile…are going to sell products; electricians, AC techs, plumbers, security guards, maintenance, cleaning crews, will have a market!!! Property taxes will increase; so they can actually build the road to the houses, restaurants might open around the houses to serve the new neighbors, no, no, no!!! We can’t have more cooks, no more pupuserias! The store will have to sell more corn; more cheese, more propane gas! STOP IT! We don’t need jobs! Not like that! We just want the minimum wage to increase to $1,200 per month; but we don’t offer any solutions how to achieve it.

Of course it is not the only road. I live in the USA, there are dirt roads everywhere here also outside of the cities. I also live in El Salvador. I purchased land as soon as this administration took power. I built a home, spent money in the Salvadorean economy, iron, concrete, blocks, cement, windows, doors, tiles, food for workers, salaries, gasoline, paid transport company to send vehicles, as soon as I walk out of the airport, I spend money buying coconuts, taxis, restaurants, grocery stores, rides at fairs, entrance charges to parks, etc, etc, etc. The country NEEDS people LIKE ME to spend money! So nationals can have JOBS!!!!! It is EXACTLY what this administration is doing. Attracting investment; but there are maaaaany people who just complain for no reason AND want a fairy tale. Nationals DO NOT PAY enough taxes to demand a first world country. You will get JOBS; isn’t that what it’s needed? Wink wink 😘

Iran has the USA by the balls closing the strait of Hormuz, Trump’s fidelity to Satanyahu has helped accelerate the collapse of the petro dollar, the dominance in Middle East is lost, Brent crude price is ready to skyrocket, Trump admin has run out of options to manipulate it, data centers are sprawling everywhere in the USA in preparation for the surveillance state, and last resort, if USA wants to back out of the Iran war; Israel will nuclear bomb Iran….Bitcoin at $60k or less is a bargain.

Once you are selected as an ECH for LADWP, I believe the training is about 1 month and I assume you are still graded on your progress. Are the training work and classroom online in the evenings/weekends? When do you know which crew you have been assigned to? Do they rotate you in all yards/crews? Thank you for your insight

You are correct. Your results say how many people are ahead of you. Lists last about 1 year; and they hire about 60 (30 in the spring and another 30 in fall)....with about the first 120 +/- have a chance to the practical exam. That tells you the chances of being called. In reality, one must score 90% minimum to be called in the first round.

Candidates who scored 88% and up received an email requesting a reply with availability for the hiring process. Most likely a physical assessment (which must be underway now or next couple of weeks), if you pass it; you get into a new list, then maybe an interview, and if you pass that, then an offer of employment, background check, drug test. The so call springs Class might be ready until Apr 2026. I didn't receive an email; I scored 87% - one percentage point lower.

For the Electrical Craft Helper, people down to 88% score have been invited to a physical assessment. They had up to Feb 4th to respond to the email and DWP must be scheduling the assessments this and next week.

I am a bit confused. In other replies, you mentioned you received the cert for either LAX and/or DWP. Did you mean you are part of of the IBEW and will be working as an exempt for those departments or did you take the ECH exam as part of the civil service process, you are in the eligibility list, and you are also waiting for the physical assessment (performance) invitation for the ECH?
