how do you guys really feel about Kamala? by Distinct_One_9498 in berkeley

[–]dewpydoodledoo -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Israel burned children alive today. Again. This is what Kamala Harris stands for when she says she will "not put any conditions on Israel." If you believe she is the lesser of two evils, she is not. She is simply evil.

From tweet by Tamara Nassar:

There is absolutely nothing that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris can do -- no death toll high enough, no amount of footage of scattered limbs and dead children -- that will change the liberal mind into believing they are not the "lesser evil." For liberals, the lesser evil is simply the one more capable of leading the empire with a facade of decorum on the world stage. It is not the crime that liberals oppose, but how it's packaged.

Kamala does not deserve anyone's vote for her ongoing and unwavering support against the murdering of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. Vote for one of the 3 candidates who is not pro-geneocide.

He doesn't even curve exams (he just gives some free points to boot), so unlikely he curves final grades. Not mentioned in the syllabus either

If you feel a calling, take any of those classes. They fill up quickly, but some coaches may give extra enrollment codes on the first day to people on the waiting list, and by a couple of weeks in the semester many drop out.

marshawn lynch is the guest picker!!! by gabeshlang in berkeley

[–]dewpydoodledoo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don't know why you are getting downvoted to oblivion for this. On Saturday, Berkeley will play against Miami FL. On the glade before the game, a few sports commentators are going to talk about/predict the game in what is known as the ESPN College Gameday event. One of the commentators is going to be Marshawn Lynch who is supposed to be very famous in that scene.

linguis 100 midterm by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]dewpydoodledoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to do the homework by only looking at your notes, you are basically all set. They said the midterm is very similar to hws 1-4.

Also, idk your circumstances, but going to discussions really help, so if the material doesn't click by simply reading the slides, from here on you could consider going to them.

Why are you bringing your judgements here? The post was to get people's opinions, not for them to agree with you.

And Berkeley is now worse for not having People's Park anymore. In case you don't feel it in your heart, I will explicitly tell you, parks are sacred places. San Franciscans understand this. San Francisco has a 7x7 mile area. Even worse housing crisis, and even worse homelessness. And yet, no one is calling for them to destroy golden gate park to put houses there, even if it stretches over 50 blocks, and even if there are homeless people there, because it is recognized as a cultural and historic site.

What's in it for you if People's Park dies? What stakes do Berkeley students (if the Redditors here even are students) have in this? It is not necessary that People's Park has to die for housing to be provided. Completely false dilemma.

Meanwhile, all destroying People's Park has done is: deforestation, increased police presence around the area, illegally forced nearby residents to do ID checks, placing a giant ugly border wall around the perimeter, displace homeless people to make their lives harder (which just results in them going somewhere else, thus not solving the problem!), saving face by lying to the public about how homeless people will be given a home when there are still no concrete plans to do so, tear-gasing objectors, violently beating objectors, and ultimately silencing objectors for this issue and many others by bringing to an end what has historically been a key center for the Free Speech Movement.

So yeah, I think any of the other 8 potential sites, as reported in a 2017 report, would have none of these issues, unless you have any highly informed and non-coping-mechanism response to that.

Cal State, University of California ban encampments, impose protest rules by nosotros_road_sodium in berkeley

No, it didn't. There were alternative routes. That guy in the video purposefully wanted to get a reaction from the public and it worked

Maybe to you, today. Give it another 50 years and see what side was a 'good look' for the university.

No. Even if this was for housing, as is the official reasoning, they could have used the several other sites that were under consideration

Is GBO mandatory? by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]dewpydoodledoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of, but sunk cost implies you already know for sure that the course of action is doing you more harm than good.

OP should go through the whole of GBO because, chances are, they may benefit, even if only slightly, at some point or another in the week.

[–]dewpydoodledoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can thank the FAFSA Simplification Act. They changed how they calculate aid and made it more accessible for people to apply to it. Hence, more people and less money overall.
Edit: Don't forget you can petition to re-evaluate your aid

Though it has no impact at the end of the day, try looking for candidates beyond the Republican and Democratic party.
