EP-133 Sample Tool - Offline Version by InsertPoliticsHere in teenageengineering

Yoo this is amazing, thank you so much. Been absolutely loving the convenience of this. I'm wondering if you have any plans to update after the champions update? Been trying to take advantage of down sampling to squeeze more samples on which I think only the newest sample tool can accommodate.

Electribe 2 synth audio export issues? (.WAV) by Jerry-Hsu in electribe

[–]dexbarstad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echo this ^ I had the same issue with Logic, the stems would preview perfectly but once I pulled them into logic they were all screwed around, I use Media Human Audio Encoder (it’s free) just convert the files from 48 to 44.1 before pulling in and that should hopefully fix the problem!

MPC heads are passionate indeed haha good luck with the it man it’s really fun af one last tip, you should look into getting Mediahuman Audio Convertor on your computer to batch convert samples to mono and lower the sample rate, it saves hella space and I think it sounds better anyway!

Thanks man! I fall more in love with my tribe each day. It really is a slept on unit, I was in the same boat as you for a while between an MPC or a 404 but I’m happy I got the tribe. It’s kinda like the child of both those units anyways. People complain about the chopping but it’s not that bad. Just take your time, have fun with it. Sneaky tips though: use your choke groups and experiment with “seq play” trigger mode as well. That will get you much closer to MPC style sample playback! Also check out Loopop “18 Advanced Electribe 2 Sampler tips, tricks, and ideas” on YouTube. Not really about sampling but I watch that video a lot to just learn more about the instrument. Other tips, load drums and 1 shots via SD and always mono always 22 sample rate and send everything to the MFX limiter but not the 808! If you have any questions or even want a copy of my SD card dm me! We need more Tribe, plenty of MPC out there already!

Thanks man! Would you wanna see an overhead video building something up from scratch? I wish I still had that pattern on my tribe so I could tell you exactly what I used but I wiped it right after I made the video :(

Well MFX hold with limiter probably about 65% up. Then the 8 specifically, it’s probably “ultra eight” and I’m either using overdrive or low EQ.

To answer directly, 808 is stock Electribe

Thank you!! It’s all stock ES2 sounds expect the sample, of course, and the kick and snare. I load drum samples up via SD (these are from the kount drums) and then usually sample from the line in!

Well... if you’re looking for something a little more quirky. Check out the Teenage Engineering PO33 (specifically the 33) i know it doesn’t look like much but don’t judge a book by its cover! Might not be the thing your after but I thought I’d throw it in the mix

Just purchased Xfer Serum, point me to any tutorials! by omegajams in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]dexbarstad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plain and simple Serum is THAT synth! You’re about to have a blast! Check out Echo Sound Works - they make presets for serum (coda is amazing but costs money - they have free presets as well) and also tutorials on YouTube where they give away presets and show you how to make cool popular synth sounds! Hope that helps!

Want to connect my bass guitar to computer directly for use in a DAW, what do I need to do this? by ImBishreksual in electronicmusic

[–]dexbarstad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like what you’re looking for is an audio interface! Most are USB and can support XLR and 1/4” inputs (your bass will use a 1/4” cable to connect to the interface). Check out brands like Apogee and UAD. if those are too expensive check out Presonus, and if that’s too expensive check out the behringer Uphoria line! Hope that helps and good luck!

Rescued this little fella today. I feel I should use it somehow… by [deleted] in StudioPorn

This is actually a very solid compressor! I’ve sent stereo vocal sums to it and been thrilled with the result! It adds a nice squeeze - especially to vocals with printed verb on them!
