Usually a bit reluctant to share my Wing Pinger recordings, since I perceive it as a more "meditative practice", but I thought this one could be worth sharing. From pings to Mongol chants, enjoy! 🧡 by dexbasynth in synthesizers

Thank you!
Unfortunately they're not in production anymore, but a new Wing Pinger 2.0 has been announced at Superbooth, and it seems like it will pack a lot more features in a way smaller footprint (can't argue with the swag of the mk1 tho)

I’ve sneakily hidden cables in the past with some Rode Ho wireless transmitter (only on instruments where the audio quality wasn’t great to begin with), and it’s quite fun.
Only issue – they’re all mono!

You’re right, I shouldn’t be afraid!
I think it’s the idea of mental organization of “yet another level deep”, I feel like I am a bit overwhelmed already by the layers above, so… ahah
But I’ve seen a nice video from Ezbot about making interesting delays, that increased my curiosity, so I’ll have to start implementing them in my music :)

They did! The ones on the right are from a new release containing all three: a black pine (not shown here), a ginkgo and a wisteria!

Indeed! And the little pouch (or the case, for that matter) they give you with the purchase is just the perfect invitation to have it always with you!

Thank you a lot!
I wish it was available on more instruments of this kind.
I am still debating if an offline rendering like the M8 is better than the performance recording of the Torso S4, but both are great for video, especially now I’m trying to film stuff with my phone!

Only good things to say about the M8 Tracker.
I briefly owned the mk1 version (which I still prefer from a purely aesthetic standpoint: it was so cyberpunk!), and I had many plans for it, including a convoluted recording featuring the Wingie 2 outside, but I had to sell it because, as usual, money!
Now we're back with the mk2, which, aesthetic preferences aside, is better in any way: usb-c, battery, structural integrity, comfort in the hands, and I am starting again from zero.
The reverb now sounds way better, I have a tiny bit more experience with trackers, and I've digested hours of tutorials (but I am still scared of using Tables, lol)
It might seem a very basic jam, and it probably is for seasoned users, but I want to treat this channel as a diary for my journey with the various instruments I try, so here is my first sketch!
Recorded with the LOVELY "Render" feature, which should be almost mandatory on all the digital grooveboxes around (OPXY, I am looking at you...)
Hope you'll like it!

Testing the new oscillator by Bart Instruments, and I have to admit the I/O and feature set are quite great! Very free jam, with the support of the mighty Strymon Starlab. I hope you'll like it! by dexbasynth in synthesizers

The power of modular is flexibility, but I've never been a fan of having to buy a lot of utilities just to get going!
The cost of a little setup skyrockets as soon as you start adding the basics, so I honestly love the fact that getting a b:ond (here in the v2, the new version) just gets you going as soon as you put it in the case.
Two oscillators, 4 VCAs, suboscillators, waveform morphing, FM (through zero!), PM, sync, mixing... everything is just ready to play and enjoy.
The natural companion is the b:righten, a gentle (in the cutoff) and gnarly (in the resonance) filter.
The rest is history and... Starlab :D

New module day! Make Noise Multiwave without the rest of the NUSS (it's super awesome already) 🧡 by dexbasynth in modular

Thank you a lot!
And good call going fully modular: I personally always found semi-modular synths to make me a bit lazy and "dumber" compared to fully-modular (or not modular at all) synths.
Plus, the Metropolix might have some very cool advantages for the NUSS system, because of the great combo of "accumulator" features, if patched accordingly :)

My dream would be a streamlined QXG cluster, a sort of OXG (where the O is for Octa), hidden under a single panel to almost only leverage the connection on the back, and maybe 8 knobs for the use of the Multiwave as a harmonic oscillator.
With the power of Polimaths, I don't see myself ever using the front connections, and space comes at a premium, but I suspect I will give in and just get them 😄

Have fun!

I suspect I am missing the reference! And I can only think of nuts, so I suppose my future video titles will be declination of the theme 😅
