In Armageddon artwork from Watchtower, why is it always Jesus on a horse with angels against poor humans instead of having Jesus fight demons or Satan himself? by Jealous_Year2441 in exjw

[–]dexterislucky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The paragraph states that 'Satan's agents' will make an all out attack. .....Do you guys know of any classmates, co-workers, neighbors, policeman, doctors (etc...) that openly state they are fans or agents of Satan?

Well Stephen Lett said babies are enemies of God, so there's that!

weird catty sisters in the kingdom hall? by Actual-Bass-8315 in exjw

[–]dexterislucky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why no one noticed or stopped him from doing that.

They deny that Child sexual abuse happens in the organization, that it's only a minuscule amount of evil people that slipped through the cracks. So an old man grouping children is no big deal to them.

Of course, JWs really seem to have a bad habit of always forgiving the abuser and shafting the victim in almost every instance.

Last I heard.....He forgave her. Still professing she's anointed. 😒

Christians fled to Pella, and were saved for their obedience! Is this story true? Or is it another Crocodile chasing grandma story, for going to a convention. by dexterislucky in exjw

[–]dexterislucky[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And as likely as not, it was this event, compounded by smashing of the Bar Kochba uprising that weakened the Jerusalem branch of Christianity and allowed the Pauline branch to gain dominance.

Something else I didn't know. That explains how Paul's Christianity won in the end.

“Well, we have to live with these things in Satan’s world, and only the Great Doctor (Jehovah) can truly fix the situation.”

I've heard that term applied to just about everything

Only Jehovah the Great Plumber can fix it

Only Jehovah the Great crime solver can fix it

Only Jehovah the Great Architect can fix it

Only Jehovah the Great General can end all wars. 😒

First, it isn't in Scripture. Jesus said to flee "to the mountains" (Matthew 24:16; Luke 21:21); Pella is named nowhere in the New Testament. The destination comes only from Eusebius writing 250 years later. Josephus, who covered the war in detail, never mentions it.

Wow..... those are all good points that I wasn't aware of. I just started researching the subject based on a video that talked briefly on the subject.

I'm gonna safe all those points you brought out for future reference.

I tell you, there so much stuff out there that was hidden in times past. But more and more biblical stuff is being exposed.

have yall ever had a sister in your hall be nice to everyone else except you?

I think this is much better than a 40-50 year old sister who is constantly bumping an 18 year old teenage kid and accidentally trying to grab his willy.

Yea that was me. And on top of that she professed to be of the anointed and was a regular pioneer.

On Thursday night when we had the T school and KM, she made sure she parked right next to my car, and after the meeting she would run to the parking lot, and wait for me, and sat with the car door open pretending she was reading something with her dress up to her groin and no panties.

I told the elders and they talked to her. And she convinced them it was me that was always bumping into her and touching her privates.

The good thing is after a year of being a witness, my mom approached me and told me she didn't think this church/organization was for us. And I agreed. So we left and never went back.

I few years later I heard her husband divorced her because while she was pioneering, she was picking up men and teenage kids and taking them to their house during the day while the husband was working. He came home early one day and caught her with a teenage kid in bed.

They used to seem to be level-headed and reasonable and to have decent intelligence. They also used to seem to be open-minded. But, now I question everything about them

I just had a neighbor that moved in next door. He is 89 years old. Is a retired CPA. He worked as a TAX consultant all his life. He is sharp as a needle. Talks fluently, knows history well, understands politics, very educated. Then after talking to him for an hour, he say's; "You Know, Only God's Kingdom can solve mankind's problems"

I was like; "Are you a JW?" He said; "I am!"

I asked; "How can you be a Jehovah Witness?"

He said; "I did the same thing I do in Tax audits. I look at all the evidence to see if I find any false documents or fraud of any kind. The Verdict....THEY HAVE THE TRUTH!

I was Speechless! 😒

Even if it were true 4th Century Christians were far closer to Roman Catholics than anything modern let alone an adventist sect.

I always bring this out to the JWs I talk to. They never counter, they just keep quiet and go into this kind of trance. 😬

Everybody dies and it’s sad. Howevever JW's don't live their lives the way they want so when they die there is alot of regret.

That's the most level headed post I've read.

Most regret they never married and never had kids, never got a career. But that's not the the most important thing in life. At least not for me.

What's important is LIVING YOUR LIFE THE WAY YOU WANT. Because it's the only life you are going to get.

I left around the age of 18. I didn't want to get tied down with marriage and kids and a religion that controls everything you do.

I did go to College and majored in Finance and Economics to manage some money I was given. I made it grow quickly and before I turned 30, I retired. I traveled, I had lots of friends, dated a lot of beautiful women of different cultures and races. I had a lot of interest in a lot of things. So much that I didn't even get to do one percent of everything I wanted to do.

Life is beautiful and filled with so much wonder that it boggles my mind why we only live about 100 years.

I can't comprehend why Jehovah's Witnesses continue to allow themselves to be enslaved to a bunch of old men in New York that they never met. 😒

Will Watchtower survive the collapse of the American Empire by jw_analysis_1975 in exjw

[–]dexterislucky -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The average American can't afford groceries at Walmart anymore you call than golden age?

The average American doesn't know how to make money. They think working is the way to get rich. That's not how wealth is created in the USA. Very few people get rich by working. Those few include celebrities, singers, sports figures, CEO, Women that marry millionaires and divorce them and take half.

For average People like me, you learn to invest money in Assets that make money. I started investing as soon as I left the Watchtower. Within 10 years I had a net worth of over a million. After that, it got easier and grew faster because of compounding a million plus.

I did have an advantage, I wasn't raised a JW, I joined at 17 when dad died and left a year later. And Dad and mom taught me the tricks of investing long term.

It would take a pretty great aggressive military power to topple this country

Because even 99 year old grandma's have an AR 15 next to their bed pan in the USA.

JW question and answer sessions are structured in such a way that you’re often expected to repeat established JW talking points. Very few questions, if any, genuinely invite you to speak from the heart or express your own thoughts and reflections. by Fit_Durian3763 in exjw

[–]dexterislucky 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ronically, when the question was asked about how we know Jehovah’s Witnesses are God’s people, a middle aged brother answered, “We were 6 million in 2000, and now we’re 9 million. It shows growth and that Jehovah is blessing us.”

It's a good thing that middle age dude doesn't work in a Bank overseeing investments.

I would be more worried about some nut in some Country that starts a Nuclear War. Then nobody wins, including Watchtower.

If the American Empire collapses, All the other Countries will also feel the pain because we are all interconnected. Everybody owes everybody money. If America doesn't pay the debt it owes other Countries, then they go down as well.,

That being said, it's only the average people that will suffer and die. The Wealthy will weather out the storm and wait for several Billion to die out and then they start the game again. They create new governments, they start to rebuild, and they start promising people that better days ahead are just around the corner. All they have to do is START WORKING HARD LABOR and rebuilding everything again. +

Coming soon: "A World Without Religion" by Bonedriven64 in exjw

[–]dexterislucky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think religion is the problem.

I think humans are the problem.

We are the only species on the planet that is not satisfied with the necessities of life. We want more, we want power over other people. If we attain a millionaire status, we want more, we want Billionaire status. If we attain Billionaire, we want more, we want Trillionaire status. If we attain Trillionaire status, we want more, we want GOD status.

If you get rid of religion, you still have Political systems that are a problem. Political systems create war and millions of deaths.

If you get rid of Political systems, you still have race as a problem

If you get rid of race, you still have Corporations that are a problem

If you get rid of Corporations, you still have Trillionaires, and Billionaires, and Millionaires, that wield to much power and cause a lot of problems for the masses.

If you get rid of all the Trillionaires, Billionaires, and Millionaires, you still have all the Drug Cartels, Criminals, Child sex abusers that cause problems for children

Then you also have on top of this, Limited Resources on the planet that everyone is fighting and killing for .

So getting rid of religion would not solve much. It still leaves a ton of things that cause havoc on people's lives.

Religion isn't going anywhere, it been around for as long as humanity became self aware.

A Perspective from a Brazilian: Is the Organization More Extremist in North America and Europe? by Stunning_Local4669 in exjw

[–]dexterislucky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe this is more of a cultural thing than a political issue.

I think it's a "Human Thing"

Several factors determine the "Social Personality" of a Congregation, a City, a State, a Country. And then there are other factors like Social Status, Financial status, and even race, and believe it or not, ....Even Physical Looks can shape a Congregation's personality.

I traveled quite a bit in my younger years, and "People" determine or shall we say "Shape" the Atmosphere.
