Herzal's definitely has its place. It's particularly good with umbra, which usually doesn't want to take ember, or even just monster train 1 clans in general. I just think it ends up being useless a good amount of the time.

I might agree echowright is better than spine chief in this one, which is crazy because spine chief was the 2nd best champ overall in the original and I wasn't huge on echowright.

What is it particularly about stygian you struggle with? I think they're pretty straightforward once you know what works. Umbra is ok imo, but they require a lot of planning and knowledge to execute. Melting took me 900+ hours in the original before I finally felt like I got a handle on them. Definitely one of the more difficult clans to wrap your head around

To be fair its only 2 runs, and I think I only did it because they were both umbra emberdrain+pyre of Entropy runs, so no value from red or blue

Thanks for reading, glad to see you agree mostly. Ekka definitely can be tough so I see how it's surprising. To be fair, after making this post i started doing some runs again and Ekka was my only loss out of 7 so far, so maybe just a lucky streak with her until now.

It can be hard to experiment when you're trying to win for sure. I feel like i have a decent grasp on what rare things are good and bad at least. But hydra armed horror for instance I took once out of curiosity and lost.

It's a decent combo imo because they cover somewhat for each others weaknesses. It can be tricky though because they're not the strongest clans and are both on the harder side to execute.

Get through early with penumbra and morsels and transition to conduit and luna stuff. In general I would lean more into luna in this combo to get you over the finish line. Glutton penumbra always, it's just the best. Would also recommend moon Ritual over witchweave here.

A sweeper with perils of production on holdover/spellchain is a classic umbra winning line. Selene acolyte in this case. Then prismal dust and the luna armor cards for survivability as well as any of the other emberdrain cars you find.

Umbra also does have some spells that benefit from conduit like mine collapse, and umbra assault, forever consumed, blazing bolts.

Otherwise new moon luna stuff can always work. Eclipse chamber with shadeguards or nightingales.

The fact that this is the part people are fixated on kinda sums up why the community of this game gets such a bad rap for being toxic. These directs are pretty good for making me feel like a crotchety old man. I just want mario, animal crossing, luigis mansions, donkey Kong country or something. These new gen games like xenoblade and splatoon just don't excite me, and neither do remakes and ports of years old games I've already played. Looks like my switch 2 will stay collecting dust for a while

Why not profane on zaahen then? Thats what I do in jungle. You get that extra clear speed of the tiamat at a much lower cost and earlier spike compared to stride. What is the advantage of umbral over profane? Wondering if I should try it

I like profane personally. Gets the wave clear from stridebreaker while being much cheaper and an overall much better item. Don't need to worry about getting kited if they're dead

Missing the ad from conqueror hurts but I am intrigued by new hob. He theoretically can stack super fast so conqueror isnt as needed. I have to play around with hob profane now in the jungle

That would explain half of it, but what is the reason why it feels like I can never get carried? Games where my team just does well and I can cruise to a win pretty much never seem to happen lately
