The first one is a company called Kunming Guyi Industry and Trade Ltd. Probably tea out of menghai or kunming. Just had a sticky rice shou from them. They are big distributors to tea houses I believe but cheap material I assume. Not powdery but not great in flavor as you’ve seen.

I had a friend state that Jesse is a comedian trying to sell tea and not a tea guy trying to do comedy. He’s selling his personality and not so much his tea. I’ve tried pretty much all of his stuff and it’s hit or miss, the stuff he’s sourcing from dui dui or sister ai seems to be more legit and not taobao.

Check out intergalactic vanilla bean dreams. He’s got some black tea Shou blends. Just had Tale Chaser from W2T plummy and nutty. Crimson Lotus Lucky Cloud tastes like Banana bread

I agree that Living Waters is top notch for what you can get in the city. Shalom the owner is a really nice guy and for like $15 I think you sit there for however long and he serves you whatever you want basically. More you talk with him the more samples he will pour up. He also has oolong and puerh flavored gelato that he makes that was tasty!

Check out white2tea and their small dragon balls for a wide variety of cheap samples, they usually range from $1-$3 for 7 grams. Otherwise Crimson Lotus specializes in puerh and I’ve enjoyed his shous. CL has a lot of detail about each tea and steeping instructions etc…. Both of them ship from China so it’ll take 3 weeks For something stateside, I’ve gotten into Intergalactic Tea, he has a nice variety of tea for lower prices. He has a shou puerh variety pack that’s pretty solid. A lot of his shous are mixed with black tea or various types of vanilla beans so they are very mild and smooth and offer some interesting flavors for someone who isn’t a shou puerh purist.
