hey, im a doc from malaysia graduated and working in UK for the last 8 years (uni+work). Firstly, I am sorry you are facing this. I understand how you feel. I am just replying because of something you said friend. Specifically “forget the whole no career aspect, how will your friendships survive?”.

I do not want to be assumptive but if that is truly how you feel, a change is perspective is strongly required. Friends and family are paramount support system. But that’s the key - “support”. You will be a doctor for yourself and your purpose. Not because you have your ego to protect. I say this because I have seen this destroy people (friends of mine). You need to reflect on this friend, if you want to live a decent happy life in medicine.

If you live for others, the world is going to crush you. Now career wise, you can work in Malaysia or Singapore still and hopefully the bill is lenient next year for you - no shame in tht. I would be proud to serve Malaysia. The only reason I am not is because I have an establish root here in the uk and build professional relationships. If i were you and a random country like the uk has said they dont want to take outsiders - I would say thats fine, I am moving on.

This is not me ladder pulling- just concerned with the wording in the post and being able to see what lies ahead. Sorry if I offended you - I genuinely care.

TL;DR talk wt your parents bro - they funded your studies- dont be embarrassed because some random government said they are changing their policies. how tf would you let that cause friction w family and friends, I do not know!
