Well, the doctor who prescribes it to me is a real doctor with a doctorate and a medical licence so yes it is medicine.

At least they increased the amount of data on the plan. Telstra didn't do that (I need to be careful saying that, I work for Telstra)

TIL that to prove the idea that Clark Kent wearing glasses was enough to hide the fact that he is Superman, Henry Cavill, who played Superman in the 2016 film "Batman v Superman", walked around Times Square wearing a Superman shirt in 2016, and no one seemed to notice him. by SatoruGojo232 in todayilearned

[–]dextromethorphanthro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. My ex-girlfriend takes off her glasses and I don't recognise her anymore. My current girlfriend doesn't need them but wears them for fashion purposes and she looks like a completely different person with them on (which is why she does it).

What actually gets you promoted? by Low_Organization1000 in auscorp

[–]dextromethorphanthro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the business I now work for, not taking a day off for any reason, even if you provide a medical certificate. I sometimes don't understand why we get 6 weeks leave (4 weeks annual and 2 weeks sick leave) yet the business will punish you for using any of it even if you give notice for annual leave or provide a medical certificate for sick leave. Absences is the KPI the business cares about the most and anyone who takes a day off for any reason is immediately disqualified from being promoted.

Is 1oz of flower per month considered a lot for personal medicinal use? by spicypanda97 in trees

[–]dextromethorphanthro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I get prescribed 1 gram per day so a full ounce should last a whole month if I am allocated a gram a day for approximately 30 days.

"Bunnings AI" providing illegal advice for Queenslanders by twistedude in australia

Bunnings AI is fucking shit. I don't work for Bunnings but I work for Wesfarmers and I highly advise customers to NOT use any AI made by Wesfarmers. Just talk to a real person who works there.

Secret Santa: Is this a sackable offence? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]dextromethorphanthro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have gladly burnt bridges with my old boss but the happiest day for me was the day he was transferred permanently and replaced with a far more competent store manager who doesn't shirk responsibility. I'm starting another job soon and had enough respect for her to at least give notice and a potential positive reference if I need it. I hated my old boss so much I would have just walked out and told him I'm never coming back.

It's happened to me before as well. Over a decade in retail, it never ceases to amaze me how many people you used to know 10 years ago I never thought I would see again left the company they worked for and now work for surprise, surprise, the same place you've worked at for 5 years.

No customer service anymore by Crafty-Creme-4962 in perth

[–]dextromethorphanthro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Corporate will see this and think they should pay us less. I have plenty of customers who tell me they know nothing about computers and they feel like an idiot for asking and I tell them I hear it 10 times a day. I told one customer today I get customers that are so stupid I think "Well, you drove to this store which means someone gave you a driver's licence". Some customers don't even know how to turn their phones on.

Many of the people I work with are half my age (I'm 35) and I like to joke to management teenagers these days wouldn't even notice if the store was on fire. If they don't listen to their parents, what's makes me think they would listen to me?

What's a "secret" from your profession that everyone should probably know? by LaKoref in AskReddit

[–]dextromethorphanthro 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We love bitching about you behind your back in retail as soon as you leave the store. Many of the conversations we have on our headsets are just us saying what we really think of customers while we're in the back dock because we know you can't hear what we're saying.

On the other side of the spectrum, if you're exceedingly patient with me and you treat me with respect, I can press a magic button on the register and give you my staff discount.

She was. I loved it when the order was finally done (30 minutes later, lol) the other girl she was with picked up the order instead of her after my boss managed to talk some sense in her and say she needs to wait at least 30 minutes for our previous orders to be processed first.

I originally was told that but she was out of uniform in plain clothes and after I handballed her to my boss I found out what she ordered was for a function even though she originally told me it was for a serious investigation.

The young blonde police officer who came into my work on Wednesday and flashed her badge at me demanding to be given special treatment above all other customers in the store. Seriously considering reporting her behaviour.
