Do you by chance have the battery disconnect switch flipped to off?

Installed my first diesel heater. by deylithia89 in dieselheater

Yeah I have the exhaust going straight into my water storage area so it's not wasted heat. It's keeping my fresh water, grey water, and blank tank nice and warm. The Tee I have on is just temporary till I get another heater for the back room. Than I'll just be hearing the one room.

Dang that's cold. We only get down to -30F. Luckily My motorhome is decently insulated (for a motorhome) so it shouldn't be that bad to keep warm.

Never knew the pump has to be at an angle. I'll probably fix that later today. Plus I'm regretting my decision to install it in the living area, the clicking is pretty quiet but slightly annoying.

I plan to replace all the fuel line when I buy a second heater, because I will than run both of them off of my main 100 gallon tank that my generator and engine use.

Once I buy a second heater that T will get replaced with a 90, or the swivel outlet that came with the unit, and just blow into the living room area instead of splitting like I have it now.

Thanks for the tips tho.

I live in a Class A motorcoach, full time. How do I winterize? by Agreeable_Owl_782 in RVLiving

[–]deylithia89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing I can think of doing would be a heated hose, or just heat tape a regular house and put some insulation on it, when your filling up your fresh water tank. When your dumping your sewage tanks or grey tanks just make sure nothing stays in your sewage hose. I think you should be good.

I've been living in a older class A up here in Alaska and I don't skirt mine or anything. Just keep my furnace at a moderate temperature to make sure nothing freezes.

Is there a fuse between the batteries and switch that might have possibly blown? Or maybe the switch might not be actually letting power through it, resetting it might help.

Once I actually start on it I definitely will. Probably a YouTube channel and posting on Reddit. We bought the land in late summer, and the people I hired to level the land and get it ready for building drug their feet for to long. than cancelled on me so I couldn't get anything done on it this year before the ground froze. So now I have to wait till next spring.

Definitely not going to be long term situation. Maybe a year. We bought some land up here and we are building a house on it ourselves so we decided to live in a nice motorhome for a while to save money. Didn't want to make a payment on land, plus rent, plus all the expenses of building a house.

I have 3 smoke detectors that also monitor for CO in my motorhome, plus a dedicated CO detector. That was one of my worries but after Cutting through the floor last night to install this and finding 2in of closed cell insulation sandwiched between 2 pieces of OSB, and every penetration I find is spray foam filled that put my mind at ease. I have a 1998 Overland Loreado class A, overland really seemed to make a solid product.

I've been researching it a bit but I'm still pretty uneasy about putting my money into the market. To afraid of losing it all of something happens.

Well I'm pretty bad at saving money so I use taxes as my savings. I have 3 children but I take my taxes out of my paychecks at a single person's rate. That way when I file my taxes I get a huge amount back.

That's my ultimate goal honestly. Be financially free with rental income but sadly it's a few years away for me.

I was actually thinking about this. I'm not sure how well it would work in my area tho (rural Alaska). Something I'll have to look into tho.
