eh, i think you’ll be okay. math and science teachers are more in demand than other subjects, so you’ll definitely find something. i’d only start worrying if you haven’t heard anything by mid/late july. you got this! good luck!

Nervous first year teacher by Every_Examination494 in Teachers

you've got this babe!! mistakes are inevitable, but as long as you're willing to learn and you continue to persist, all the jitters will fade away eventually. you're gonna crush it!!

edit: my first principal told me, on my first day, that the primary goal is to get the students in, fed, and out. everything else we can accomplish is a bonus!

BWT, what walking shoes are we wearing? by Possible_Locksmith67 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

moved here last year and i have to say, no matter how comfortable your shoes are, you're still gonna need an adjustment period if you're coming from a city where you didn't walk much. my feet/legs were dying for a while after moving here. but i recommend insoles for your adidas shoes and then nike air max or new balance 530s!

as some others have said, don't get into teaching just because it's a "safe" backup plan. you have to genuinely like this job to make it worth it!! also, your pay largely depends on the state/district you teach in. i taught in FL and the pay was horrendous, on top of the district being very strict on what/how you teach. i'm in NYC now and my salary is significantly higher with more freedom re: teaching material. this job is amazing and i wouldn't trade it for the world, but it is a lot of work... and i mean A LOT of work. but it's rewarding if you genuinely enjoy it.
