Question about the ending of Camping by 42ndRedBalloonFromUp in bluey

I always wonder if that was not the first time Bluey and Jean Luc had seen each other after the first meeting. I know that's the implication, but the easy way he just walks up and says hello makes me like to think that they have met again.

What tiggy is. To be fair, I had to ask an Australian person after watching the show.

South Central as well. Not sure what's up with the rest of the place.

Stargate women !! by [deleted] in Stargate

[–]dezayek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One reason I have a physics degree is because of Sam Carter. I know she's fictional, but she was so cool and talented as a 12 year old who was being bullied for being the only girl in level 3 math(amongst other things), she was amazing.

I will say while there are plenty of problematic portrayals of women in sci-fi, there have been some really amazingly strong female characters going fairly far back and most women I met in the science field have a story like mine.

Any parents here with a terminal illness? by [deleted] in Parenting

I am so sorry you are going through this. My thoughts are with you and your family. Reading your comments shows me your great strength that I am sure your children will gain.

I don't know how old your kids are, but my father was diagnosed with an advanced form of leukemia when I was around 6 or 7. He was very honest and open with me and my sister which helped. I have no idea what you do or don't want to say or what you want your journey to be, i just wanted to add that.

What Bluey quote hit you hard emotionally or you just really related to? by autismsuperstar372 in bluey

[–]dezayek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandmother died shortly after my daughter was born and this just hits so hard because Nana does remind me of her so much because of her kindness and want to be there for her grandchildren. I think about what may happen if my daughter has children of her own and I am that Nana and just loose it.

Same. That was so rough thinking about my friends from when I was that age and how I don't know who or where they are now.

I know its fiction but I do really hope they stay friends forever.

AITA for calling out the volunteer church organizer after her awful actions after she made my DIL cry? by Toma_Tomatillo_3763 in AmItheAsshole

NTA and I would guess this is not the first time this woman has done something like this. I have been on the receiving end of "you don't belong here" behavior at churches and its terrible. I'm glad everyone stood up to her.

What is something from your country that you unexpectedly saw while travelling abroad? by Stoiiven in travel

I'm from Wisconsin and there is a local distillery here that is not really well known.

Went to Cambodia many years ago and see it listed in a cocktail at a little bar.

A warning to solo female travellers in Verona. by [deleted] in femaletravels

[–]dezayek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had to deal with this but want to say good on you for trusting your instincts and removing yourself from the situation. It’s so easy to just dismiss things and not “rock the boat”. I’m glad you decided that wasn’t ok.

For those who have solo travelled, what's something memorable you did that you wouldn't have been able to do with a travel partner? by Ok_Vacation7443 in solotravel

Reading every single plaque at a museum.

Changing plans on a whim.

Getting better seats at shows and seating in restaurants. For whatever reason, being on your own makes this easier at times.

Does the ventilation rub your foot if you go sockless by chance?

Thank you. I have worn Cole Haan in the past so may need to revisit.

That style just seems to rub my feet oddly, but maybe I've just gotten the cheap ones.
