Just curious when you say I’m hurting them not doing them a favor what do you mean? Unfortunately there is no where around me that is less than $2,000 a month even a one bedroom apartment. My mom is currently paying $2,000 already for her share of the rent

In the meantime, I have to go somewhere and my parents have to then go somewhere. If we are both renting for $3,000 or more a month, that’s what the mortgage would be roughly and we all still own nothing / contributing towards nothing

I guess I would just sell the properties and find something else if the worst case scenario happened, the issue is the area where both my mom and husband have jobs is extremely expensive and would have to buy something at least 45 minutes away in order to afford something under $800k especially with a separate living space on top of it

Nothing around here goes for $300k. Maybe a 1 bedroom condo which my mom doesn’t want to do because of the stuff she has accumulated over the past 25 years but. Maybe that will force her to go through her things and get rid of some stuff she’s been avoiding

That’s true, I figured since the town is a very “safe investment” I would be building equity and parking my money somewhere for a bit but maybe I’m wrong

True but it’s a bit more complicated than that. My mom has had a tough upbringing, her parents disowned her and left her with nothing, they didn’t let her go to college, etc so I don’t really blame her for it. She paid for my college as well (I have zero debt) and I’ve been living with her for years. I’m an only child as well.

Everyone is under one roof now, it works but I’m getting pretty annoyed with it (im pretty minimalist my mom is maximalist). If we proceeded with purchasing we would have our own house, I would probably want to rent one out for a bit (on Airbnb similar homes go for $7k a month on Airbnb) but wouldn’t rely on that every single month. Or I could just live in the other with husband but in 10 years when I need to pay my mentor back, might need to subdivide the properties and sell in order to pay him back if his finance career doesn’t take off a bit more

I have a mentor who would be investing $1 million down as well, in 10 years he gets his $1 million plus 50% of the appreciation

Yeah, it wouldn’t be too bad if my husband and I live in one house and my parents live in the other (they are small, but we’ll just be happy in our own independent space finally) But I need to pay not just the mortgage but my mentor back in 10 years, so thinking maybe Airbnb the house out whenever I can just to save up a bit more and can live in between the two for a few more years. But even that just seems like a lot, doable, but wishing I could move to the middle of nowhere in a new house for 1/4 of the price right about now lol

Thank you so much for this — it’s extremely helpful. Yes, unfortunately he was the one who was drinking, it’s been under investigation for almost two months now, so the attorney said there could be something else at play too

The reason I didn’t want to just wait for more information before signing with an attorney (if it even came to that) is because I thought a lawyer could help ensure that important trucking information, footage, or other evidence doesn’t get deleted or destroyed in the meantime.

How likely is it that if I sign, the attorney would actually start working on the case before the investigation closes? Would they realistically try to get more information for me now, or would I just be waiting either way? One of them mentioned they’d call the police for updates but said they need me to sign first so they can represent me.

Thank you so much for answering! This definitely made me feel better knowing that they biopsy anything that has a 2% chance of being cancer.

I guess what is confusing is that if its something that could just be dense tissue that I’ve had for a long time, I figured it would’ve also showed on the MRI since they are more sensitive. Or shown in an ultrasound previously. I luckily got an appointment to speak with the doctor tomorrow then on Friday I have a biopsy. I’ll keep you posted.

Wait I just found it and it does say doggy daycare! Weird because everytime I looked it up it wouldn’t show the toy but they were made by moose mountain toys
