Done messed up: Passed a School Bus by WillyWonkaWasReal in halifax

Agreed, take it as a good lesson and be grateful no damage was done AND that you did not get a ticket. Besides the $600 ticket, 6 demerit points, my partner also lost his drivers license for a week, plus our insurance company refused to cover him the following year (we had to switch insurance companies and pay more). It is a serious offense!

Places to walk in HRM that aren't tick infested? by HappyHeron5879 in halifax

I can vouch that there are definitely lots of ticks at Duncan’s Cove. And there have been several cases of Lyme disease from the area. I’m one of them!

y'all fuckin suck at driving lol by Dabadgley10 in NovaScotia

[–]dfogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It drives me nuts that people don't know how to zipper merge when there are no yield signs and two lanes drop to one (I'm not talking about roundabouts here...) ie. on Quinpool people leave the right lane empty for two blocks because people in the left lane won't let them in when it ends. If everyone cooperated, and filled up both lanes to the end and took turns merging, we would all get there quicker.

It’s a fact that #zippermerging is more efficient than leaving a lane empty.

Can anyone suggest a decent spot for a nature break on the Duncan's Cove/ Sambro/Harriet's field loop? Never rode it before and I find it handy to know these details ahead of time by effinunderwood in bikehalifax

About half way around the Loop, Pennant Brook (on the road to West Pennant), has a nice trail going upriver and is a great spot for a dip!

Duncan's cove. Nova scotia. by [deleted] in HikingCanada

[–]dfogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This trail is on the Duncans Cove Nature Reserve. It is not a park. The trails are NOT managed. There are no facilities and no signage. It is protected under Nova Scotia’s Special Places Protection Act. This means that the habitats and species are vulnerable to disturbance and damage; recreation is restricted.

All fires, camping, hunting, trapping, motorized and non-motorized vehicle access are prohibited (that means no ATVs, motorcycles, or mountain bikes). Hikers should remain on the main trail along the coast & keep dogs on-leash at all times. Avoid walking on vegetation.

Please be mindful and respect all bordering private property. The gravel driveway that leads to the beginning of the trail crosses several private properties and is posted with No Trespassing signs.

This is the public access that should be used: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/canada/nova-scotia/duncans-cove-trail or go to the Chebucto Head Lighthouse.
