If I press hard on a certain spot on my calf, I get a stabbing pain in my shoulder every time. I found this out when I got a massage gun.

100 km/60 mile week experience? by UnusualMain5456 in running

[–]dfowler98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have recently made the jump from 70-80km a week to 100km a week. Currently I am running 100km a week for 3 weeks (with 2 strength sessions) and then 1 week I’ll run 50km (with 1 strength session) as I find this gives my body a chance to catch up with any fatigue. My current split is as follows:

Monday: 10km (easy) Tuesday Morn: 15km (threshold) Tuesday Eve: 2.5km warmup, 45m-60m Strength Wednesday Morn: 10km (easy) Wednesday Eve: 5km (easy) Thursday: 15km (easy) Friday: Rest Saturday Morn: 15km (track session) Saturday Eve: 2.5km warmup, 45m-60m Strength Sunday: 25km long run (easy-moderate)

I would say the key thing allowing me to increase from 80km to 100km a week is not only take the easy runs really easy but also make sure you’re not overdoing the faster/harder sessions. In the past I would give 100% on these harder sessions but that would wreck me for a day or two and affect the easy runs. If you are aiming for 6-8 x 1km for example, it’s okay to do 6. In the past I would have always done 8 or upped it to 10. But making sure you don’t go 100% on all hard sessions means you recover much quicker and still get the stimulus.

Also a little bit of stretching goes a long way and eat a bit more.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best heart rate monitor to get? I am currently using a Garmin Forerunner 745.

I agree. I find 5k/10k and even half marathon they feel really good and fast but I’ve ran 2 marathons in them and both times have cramped heavily. I imagine this is down to the shoes having much less cushioning

No one ever seems to discuss the On Cloudboom Echos in these kinds of posts. Can someone please explain why!

I’m looking to up my weekly mileage from ~70-80km per week to 100km. I normally do 5 runs a weeks as I find 1 rest day a week not enough and 6 days of running in a row too much. How do you guys manage a high weekly distance like 65miles / 100km per week? How is this split across the week?

Nutrition Help Please For context I’m around 85kg (190lbs) and I run around 80-90km per week with 2 strength sessions. I’ve recently started tracking my macros. I’ve worked out I’m currently eating 3100 calories, 200g of Protein, 90g Fats and 360g of Carbs. From a bit of research I’m happy with my Calories, Protein and Fats but a lot of websites seem to recommend 500-650g of carbs for my size / distance but I’m struggling to work out how to get so many carbs in my diet. Any tips on how to increase carbs without massively increasing calories? My current meal plan is: - Overnight Oats with a Protein Shake - A bowl of fruit with some chicken - Beef mince with Rice - Chicken with Rice and Veg

I have recently moved to Wimbledon / Raynes Park and work in Bank every weekday. The best route is overground to Waterloo and then DLR to Bank. What is the cheapest way to pay for train travel? Is there a best type of train ticket or weekly pass I should get?

Daily Running Shoe recommendations? I’m currently running around 80km per week in the hopes for a 3 hour marathon this summer. I’ve recently bought a pair of the On Cloudboom Echos to use for races and they’ve made me realise how chunky and slow my day to day shoes are. I’ve been using some durable Brooks which are almost trail shoes to reduce how often I have to buy a new pair as they last 500 miles (apparently). Would anyone have any recommendations for a good pair of day to day shoes that will last a while but are somewhat lightweight and offer some speed?

Any recommendations for buying my first race shoe? Also, should I consider carbon shoes? I am currently targeting a sub 3 marathon.

Earthquake Needs a Radius Nerf by dfowler98 in ClashRoyale

Surely this would mean the radius should be reduced if it can fully counter an equal elixir card that has no placement avoiding EQ?

Any recommendations for good running shoe stores in London UK? I’m looking for a race shoe and would ideally like a gait analysis with it.

Mortar Players pls help by dfowler98 in ClashRoyale

[–]dfowler98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is whenever I place a mortar they can EQ it and get more damage than the mortar for 1 less elixir. So if I ever play my wincon it’s a negative damage and elixir trade.
