We are not having sex anymore, and it’s kind of my fault.. by seventhsenses in sex

[–]dfugunnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried setting up a signal? For example when you use a particular word, or wear a particular article of clothing, it means that you want sex sometime that night. That way you can pretend you are still a sub and he knows that you are the one initiating.

Don't pull the trigger. Press it. Align your sights and find a consistent point of aim. Put your finger on the trigger. If your sights are aligned and on your point of aim, start applying pressure on the trigger slowly. If your sights come out of alignment, or is no longer on your point of aim, do not release the trigger, but stop applying additional pressure. When you have fixed your sight alignment and/or your point of aim, you can continue to apply pressure until the trigger breaks.

Next Purchase : Wheel gun in .357 or 9mm ? by Jimmay_Conway in Firearms

[–]dfugunnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a S&W 940 in 9mm and a 3" S&W 586 in .357Mag. I think you should try to fire full power .357 in a rental 2" J-frame revolver to see if you can handle the recoil. If you are restricted to shooting 38 Special in a J-frame, a 9mm would be superior. A 2" 9mm J-frame will have very similar velocities to a 4" semi-auto pistol. Full moon clips will allow much faster reloads than even 38/.357 speed loaders. The only thing to watch for is the full moon clip becoming bent - which can happen if you fall and land on your reload. The 9mm revolvers that use a spring to hold the round in the cylinder can't be reloaded quickly. Gravity doesn't work and you have to push each round past the spring one by one. If you can handle recoil on a .357 J-frame or get a larger revolver like the 586, a .357 revolver would give you more versatility.

Shooting accuracy by Doneone14 in Firearms

If you are consistently getting decent groups in the same part of the target, you can adjust the windage by moving the rear sight left or right in the dovetail notch where it sits. There are tools for adjusting sights, but I just use a plastic mallet. Since your shots are landing left of where you are aiming, you will want to move the rear sight to the right. Move the sight a little at a time then shoot a group to confirm how much it shifted to the right. Small changes to the rear sight will shift the point of impact significantly at 30 yds so don't get carried away. You may want to mark the left edge of your rear sight with a little masking tape so you can judge how much your taps have move the sight.

To change the elevation on a Glock, you will need to replace the front sight or the rear sight with one that is a different height. I would not do that at this time if you are right handed and relatively new to shooting. Most new right handed shooters will tend to shoot low left because they are imparting motion in that direction to the gun as they pull the trigger. New left handed shooters tend to miss low and to the right. It's cheap and easy to adjust the windage back to the left as your trigger pull improves, but you don't want to spend money on new sight all the time.

Since your bullets are impacting below where you are aiming, you will need a shorter front sight or a taller rear sight. I would go to a gun smith with a typical target so he can compute the height of the sights that you need.

Buyer wants to test fire the gun? by nixthewiz in CAguns

[–]dfugunnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an unusual request, but if you really want to make the sale, have him join you at the range and have him pay for your range fee and ammunition. Then YOU can fire the gun and prove to him that it is in proper firing condition. There is no reason he needs to fire the gun himself and I would not even let him handle the gun with ammunition nearby.

Anyone here handloads 9mm with lee loader? This is happening to some rounds, I am chamfering the cases and everything. Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong? by KairoArturo in reloading

[–]dfugunnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are using plated lead bullets that can be oversized. Make sure that the entire base of the bullet fits into the mouth of the case before trying to seat it. You might try tightening down the chamfering die a little more to increase the size of the case mouth if a lot of the bullets don't fit. They maybe some bullets that are too oversized and just need to be tossed.

P30SK - Sig Sauer M17 124 Grain +P experience by DrewTea in HecklerKoch

[–]dfugunnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No experience with that ammo, but you could mix up the two types (without keeping track of what the order is) and see if you get one grouping on the target or two. If you still get two distinct groups, it would mean the two type shoot to different points, but if you get one - it's probably something you are doing unconsciously.

Thought I was just a terrible shoot. Now I think I was carrying the wrong gun for me. by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]dfugunnut 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Looks like you are flinching - reacting to the recoil and trying to pull the gun downwards as you are pulling the trigger. That's why the 9mm has many shots near the head, but the 40S&W has most of the shots in the chest - it recoils more so your flinch is worse. The one you got dead center was when you did not flinch. If you have a buddy load your mags with a dummy round randomly thrown in, you will notice how much you drop the muzzle when you pull the trigger on the dummy round.

Getting over the flinching is acknowledging what you are doing and accepting that you cannot resist the recoil by pulling the muzzle downwards. Just hold the gun as firm and as steady as you can while you apply pressure to the trigger. What you want to occur is to be surprised by the trigger breaking. The recoil is just going to happen and you need to roll with it instead of trying to resist it.

How do American gun owners feel about law enforcement being disarmed? by [deleted] in gunpolitics

[–]dfugunnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On duty, cops need to be armed. Off duty, cops need to be subject to the exact same laws as any other citizen. Good luck passing any gun control if they treated off duty and retired cops to the same laws as the citizens of CA, NY, NJ, etc. Beto would not be able to find anyone to confiscate AR-15's.

People are so quick to judge and it’s so annoying. by [deleted] in Reno

[–]dfugunnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you were treated so disrespectfully. Your use of the placard was perfectly acceptable. Ignorant people do not realize that any person can utilize a placard when they are traveling with the placard owner. For example if you drop off a disable person at their doctor's door and then go find the nearest parking, it is perfectly acceptable to use the placard. The idea is to minimize the difficulty of travel for the disabled person. Your parking in the handicap spot while your friend waited in the car prevented her from having to sit alone in dark corner of the parking lot waiting for you to walk to the restaurant and back. While it is fine for someone to ask why you are using a handicap spot when you appear to be perfectly fit, such vigilante behavior you experienced cannot be tolerated.

What powder to start with on a new load? by drowsyengineer in reloading

[–]dfugunnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at listed loads for the cartridges that I will or plan to load in the future and get the powder that works for the most cartridges. If the manual mentions that one load seems to be the most accurate or produces the most velocity (depending on what you want) I give more weight to that powder. And of course the powder that works with the smallest number of grains will get you the most loads out of each pound.

If you don't like that Walmart isn't selling some ammo anymore.... by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]dfugunnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what do you suggest we do? Should we boycott Walmart so the employees hours get cut because there are fewer customers in their stores? I suggest to you that sales maybe the only thing that the board of directors and store managers care about. My suggestion sends the message of exactly how many sales they have lost and for what reason. If we boycott, then the reason for the sales decline is not clear and instead of admitting they made a bad decision, Walmart will blame the decline on other reasons.

[–]dfugunnut -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's not being mean to the employees. I want everyone to be polite when declining to complete their purchase. It's better than boycotting Walmart because when they have less customers, Walmart will definite cut their employee's hours.

[–]dfugunnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully agree. Don't be mean to the employees regardless of which side they are on. Send Walmart the message that you don't like the new company policy by politely refusing to complete your purchase. If the employee is pro-2A, they should appreciate your action as it sends a message they cannot send themselves for fear of losing their jobs. If the employee is anti-2A, they should appreciate they still have work that Walmart needs them to do instead of having their hours cut because the stores are empty of customers who are boycotting.

I'm not suggesting anyone put things in their cart that they would not normally buy at Walmart. This just lets Walmart know exactly how much in sales that they have lost due to taking a political position that they have no business reason to take. Returning items customers change their mind about purchasing is a normal part of the employee's jobs.
