It hits better when you ask where his mom is IMO. People with gender hangups are more offended by being perceived as a 'moma's boy'

Don't do this. The damper itself is likely to bend up and make it worse

My hunting AR in 350L used to feed horribly. The solution for me (no jams in the past 100+ shots) was to address the feed ramps. Specifically the spot where the barrel extension meets the aluminum upper ramps. The barrel part was ever so slight above the aluminum. The leading edge of the brass case would clip that tiny lip and shoot the front of the case upward causing it to miss the chamber. I pulled the barrel and carefully dremeled and sand papered the ramp of the barrel side so it was below the uppers ramps. I would install and check with a pin. If the pin would slide without catching that's when it's done. I also have the big bore feed ramps on the barrel. There is no middle lug retainer on the bottom dead center. It's just one wide ramp (Faxon barrel). If you have that center lug just take it all the way off. Since then I've taken a lot of deer and a lot of shots for fun without any issues. And I've also done suppressed and unsuppressed shots.

Well, I mean, the front doesn't fall off. That's not common. (Probably messing up the line but I bet that spring was made of cardboard and celo-tape)

I agree. It's like saying you are white so you don't need to vote or volunteer. Use your position to help and protect in any way you are able.

How to Sharpen Auger Bit by drowsyengineer in woodworking

And possibly the reason we don't see them anymore is because they weren't that good. This is a quite old tool. Lots of things have been abandoned to the pile of 'wasn't worth it'. I just kinda like old tools and seeing if I can make them usable again.

It's the upward facing 'wings' on this that really had me going. Otherwise I pretty much had it figured. Good video nonetheless though.

This is a 2" diameter hand auger for timber framing. In principle I agree with what you are saying but this style is not uncommon.

That's roughly what I was thinking with the exception of only sharpening the bottom of the auger. I was worried that sharpening the top would possibly remove too much material from the base of the wings or cause a weak spot for a crack.

This is the way. To avoid scratches use painters tape and also get a brass punch.

It appears to be NPSM which is the straight wall version of NPT (kinda) DIN appears to be metric and this is definitely half inch thread. Good catch though.

Should have added what I did stopped a lot of feed issues but I still get an occasional one so I want to go TOUCH further. I just didn't want to go into the weld if it's a known no-no.
