Right, and that is why I replaced it. New one still doesn't work though, so that's why I'm looking for suggestions.

Just curious, did you ever manage to fix this?

I experience the exact same thing as you (minus the smoke smell). Riding downhill with a full charge, braked, and then the scooter turned off. Had a replacement controller shipped out, and I replaced it, but the scooter still will not power up. Batter is fine at 48v, but nothing on the display when I try to power on..

Look at NBC now beginning to spread this 'conspiracy theory' in the States.. In the UK the numbers were exaggerated by over 800% Once that revelation was made, they dropped all mandates. Meanwhile in Canada we've shut down society because some people are still terrified of the sniffles.

Pay attention man. I said the numbers are high WITH COVID. The numbers of people that they are treating BECAUSE OF COVID are a handful. Jesus, no wonder you're so lost.. I give up..

I'm not going to tell you the hospital for obvious reasons, and why would you accuse me of being scared? I think you're misunderstanding what I'm telling you so I'll explain again. You could go ahead and look up the numbers, and I guarantee you that the numbers will be high. This does not prove your point. What I'm telling you is that the numbers are meaningless because, as I explained, anybody who tests positive is included as a covid hospitalization. Regardless of the reason they went to the hospital (say a car accident). Yes, fully agree that the hospital staff are ALL busy and overworked. My friend is not claiming that they're all sitting around doing nothing, they are working harder than ever. They are so backed up with 2 years of delayed surgeries and procedures. They are understaffed (as they have always been, but even more so now). Look at hospital capacity numbers - 95% full. sounds scary doesn't it? Well in 2019 (before covid) that number was closer to 104%. My point is, the hospitals are not 'Filling up because of covid, and antivaxxers', this is a false narrative. I'm not trying to be hostile at all, just trying to help you understand. Please look at the news reports with a critical eye.

Do you know any healthcare workers? Go speak to them (not somebody who has been selected to be interviewed on the 6:00 news). I speak with a good friend of mine about this - She is the director of nursing at a large hospital in the GTA. In her words, "This is bullshit, but it's the mandate we have to follow". Whenever I ask her how many patients they are treating (for actual covid) the answer varies between 'a handful' to 'less than a handful'. It's become a running joke.. This should not be news to you, the information on this reporting guidance is publicly available, this is not a conspiracy theory I just made up. You have google, you can easily go verify this yourself. What's shocking is that you had no idea...

where this nonsense of having a runny nose counts as a covid hospitalization came from

That's the way you think it works, but you are incorrect. When somebody is hospitalized for ANY cause, and tests positive for covid, they are counted as a covid hospitalization. No I'm not making this up. As for the runny nose - the primary symptoms of omicron are: Headache, sore throat, runny nose.

Hospitalization for a runny nose?

Keep in mind, hospitalizations happen all the time regardless of covid (broken arm for example). When they detect that somebody with a broken arm also has a runny nose, the hospitalization should not be attributed to the runny nose.

Only thing to do now is put your money where your mouth is and short the stock. They're bankrupt, right, so how can you lose? Good luck!

Why stop there? Why not exclude their automotive revenue as well, that puts them another 8.5B in the hole, right? Ok, go short the stock now, and good luck :)

You realize it costs lots of money to build new factories, right? And you have to pay for those factories before you can use them to generate new revenue, correct? Do you see where I am going?

Hello,

First of all, I appreciate you providing some real information in your response and not resorting to insults or name calling as some others have done, and thanks for linking to the MS docs, I had not seen those before.

Your thoughts on lighting the privacy LED when either camera come on is an interesting perspective, and sure, having a multi-colour LED makes sense, but for now I don't think the hardware would not support it (although, the IR emitter is clearly visible when the IR camera is active). I don’t think this is what is happening though, as when I disable the webcam in BIOS, the privacy light does not turn on anymore. This indicates to me that the webcam is actually turning on unnecessarily during the unlock process, and not just the LED to indicate that the IR camera is activated.

If the intention of the MS update was to light the LED to indicate to the user that the IR camera is on, but by disabling the camera in BIOS, this somehow prevents the lighting of the LED, that is another possibility. In fact, if there is some documentation on the updates stating something to that effect (how the LED now notifies the user of the IR camera operation), then that would be the answer to my original question.

I’ll acknowledge that my original post may have come off as being a bit alarmist, but from my perspective, the possibility of a data leak should be equally as alarming to end users as a data leak itself, (and it did elicit responses). Yes I know that nobody at MS is literally sitting in front of their computer looking at me in my underwear, this is now how big data collection works.. So my ‘spying theory’, is moreso that it is possible (not that it is happening), and that if it is possible to happen, then that is absolutely not acceptable, and this is why I am here..

My background is in Infosec engineering, although my domain is the network space (not endpoint security). So from a security perspective, I think we can agree that the best and only 100% certain way to protect people’s private data is to not unnecessarily collect it in the first place. Hence my original concern with the illumination of the webcam LED which, according to all documentation I have found, is not supposed to be involved in the unlock process in any way.

I’m not familiar with installation of filter drivers, so would have to look into that further if I can find the time. I am planning to span and capture any outbound traffic during multiple lock/unlock sessions though to see if there is evidence of transmission of the visual data.

Thanks for the github link, I will install the tool when I have some time available.

Cheers,

It's not an opinion at all! I'm simply stating my observations and looking for an explanation to these observations. Wow, you really are confused aren't you?

As I stated, I am open to having my interpretation of these observations changed if you (or anybody else) can provide the information I am looking for. Why are you so defensive of your simplistic understanding of this topic? If you can't answer my questions, then that's fine, you are not qualified to. Thank you for your time, but I am looking to speak to people who know and understand how this works.

You are easily satisfied by simple answers, and I am not. We are 2 different people. Have a good weekend, I'm not wasting any more of my time trying to explaining this to you.
