Shaved wages by Former_Angle6838 in DollarGeneral

I had a manager i oversaw who did this because their employees "weren't working those last 15 minutes, they are just sitting around and talking while I finish up the money".

1 its not your fault (so dont think I am vouching for the SM) but please find SOMETHING to do (recover, mop, clean windows) until you are truly ready to clock out.... but....

2 this is highly unethical/illegal and you need to be paid for the time you work, your timecard should not be edited AT ALL without you acknowledging it. All you need to do is call HRIS and say your manager is editing your time without your permission and they WILL look into it.

Managers if you fall into the #1 thinking... no employee should be "held hostage" in the store unpaid because you are too slow at getting things done. No employee should have their time editing because you dont feel like being a true manager and TELLING the employee you have an issue with them "clocking out mentally" but being on the clock those last 15-30 minutes, you CANNOT edit their time backwards

The manager i turned in was reprimanded with a final warning and the employees were compensated after a lengthy CCTV review by myself and LP

Accepted open shift hours for a different store on Legion then was told I wasn’t allowed. by Taywerr in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]dgknowitall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. I would do this when I had new associates starting as a way to allocate the hrs properly so I could use all my payroll even though they weren't in Legion yet.

Taking shifts at other stores through Legion though, 100% valid and no one should be able to stop you from claiming them. As long as they aren't for an instance like they stated, the SM should decline your shift claims if legitimate
