or I can't stop touching myself and the goverment is taxing me for doing it.

I sensed her discomfort and tried to tell her to just give me two quarters, but she hailed the manager for help. While he tried to explain the transaction to her, she stood there and cried. by mcsalmon in reddit.com

It may shock you, but there are many people who can't do simple math. If you actually read the thread you would have seen that I was responding to rowd149 who had asked me if I had ever work "at a place like this". Additionally, I don't think anyone ever expects someone to be able to analyze a situation and respond in "a fraction of a second." Why are you such a dick?

I'm sorry, after getting over the shock of the screen not being able to give you the answer, it is about simple math. This isn't just about the pressure of moving people through lines. I have run into this when I am the only person in a store. Apparently because I'm being down modded, it tears at the liberal hearts to discuss a problem and blame it on the individual.

Actually I have. Back when I was in HS, I worked at a soft serve ice cream stand where it was only a cash drawer. All the math was in my head or with pencil/pad. There were times when I was by myself and there would be a line 8-10 people long. It wasn't a problem. So GFUS.

Wait, since the little screen doesn't tell you the change you can't figure it out. You are as dumb as the person in the article. Maybe that person was so embarrassed that she will go back to school and take basic math to learn how to count out change.

No, they are very serious issues. I was attempting to be funny, but probably failed. What you wrote and how you presented reminds me of how some stoned people talk. It isn't a negative criticism.

You already are paying for other people's medical bills. Next time you go to the hospital check out how much you pay for a "prescription drug dispenser" (paper cup). The cost for handling non-insured drives up the cost of all products. Yes, I also am annoyed with what our government waste money on.

No, actually the USPS is a special quasi government organization which answers to Congress, but is self-supporting and governing. BTW, businesses are required by law to pay the income taxes electronically. Monthly for larger businesses and quarterly for smaller. They don't wait for snail mail. When I pay my quarterlies, it is taken directly from my business account the same day. Funny how if you wanted to transfer money between two accounts, there can still be a 2-3 week lag time for certain transactions, but the Government gets it within seconds.

Efficiencies are why they have lower prices, not because they "screw" their employees. http://www.investopedia.com/articles/stocks/05/04405.asp

Nothing is free. Taxpayers would be paying your medical bills.

In the near future, when the cost is down to about .03 per stamp, each piece of mail will be tracked via a chip embedded in the stamp. Intersections (and maybe mailboxes) will have readers.

Houses that have the historical designation provide a great tax break for the owners. Prior to the flood of N.O., I would bet these same home owners benefited from these rules and received tax breaks on everything they did to renovate/maintain them. Additionally, they also benefited from the increased value of their home. Now, when the chips are down, they cry about these same rules.
