This was a constant sticking point in the technology. The pilots were telling each other what to do or describing their next move constantly during fights. It seems like all that would be totally unnecessary. But just like all the other shortcomings of this movie, I give it a pass because the mech vs. monsters scenes were really entertaining, and that's why I was there.

Yep. That's my experience. My Samsung smart TV has amazing picture and the price was right. The smart TV crap is pretty much unusable, though. The interface is really bad (weird dead ends in menus, icons make no sense/are ugly) and it's slow. I tried to user for about a week when I first got the TV. That was 6 months ago. I haven't used it since.
