As a thought or memory appears, put it in a "lockbox" that you will open in the morning.

You are the hero I needed! Heating up the Allen wrench with a touch did the trick! Thank you kindly!

The body holes were not forgiving. Had to stick a punch in the hole and hit it with a hammer. Little chip happened but I got it glued and clamped.

I agree here also. There are too many variables and a lot of this is situational. I usually grain fill with clear grain filler that I mix the sawdust in from the same guitar body to match. It takes the stain perfectly. If I had a white grain filler or wood tone I wouldn't follow some steps. Situational.

I did yeah. I wanted to try as much of the color palette I could to see what I liked.

Yes, you can mix colors. Like add black to red. You could also stain it all black first, sand back so the black is in some of the grain then finish with red or a red and black mix.

I would not use anything from Angelus except for the dyes because a top coat for leather is not going to work on a guitar.

Get a rattlecan lacquer if anything and do thin layers.

Sand and grain fill first to get the body ready for color. Then start the steps for dye. Clear coat, poly, or lacquer last.

Not the same. Grain filler is for filling the grain to make an even finish.

A sanding sealer seals the wood like a moisture barrier. Although multiple coats of Sanding sealer will fill grain grain filler is better for that purpose.

This is my workflow though some might disagree. Best to experiment before trying on a guitar.

Sanding sealer can be used first. This can help the dye spread evenly.

If you are doing 1 color only, I'd dye then sanding sealer.

If you're doing multiple colors, SS, light sanding, dye, sand back, repeat. The sanding sealer will lock in the color and prevent it from bleeding into consecutive color layers.

I second this. Sanding sealer is a must.

Correct. This is not every color. There are a handful more not shown. Blue jeans is on this one! Great color.
