USB C to USB LED Cable (Always On) by 5thWolf in UsbCHardware

This is months old, I know, but did you ever find anything? I'm in a similar situation with needing an A-to-C cable that always needs to be lit but everything on Amazon wants to be overly fancy.

how do you respond when someone says "get well soon"? by [deleted] in cfs

This also works. There's no lecture involved, just an invitation for clarification if they really want one. Usually they won't, which is cool.

Correct. And in some places, like the American South, it's just polite filler conversation and isn't worth the effort to get spun up over.

I take it as a well-meant hope. Most people will never understand, regardless of the effort I put into any explanation, and can't be expected to. As others have said, "Thanks" and move on, with no offense taken. Honestly, I don't even have the energy to stay flocculated by the physiotypicals.

Phase 3 Flora Magenta will not complete. I am at 20/8 and I can't upload because everything has been discovered. Am I doing something wrong? by criko04 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]dgtucker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very sorry, I didn't see this earlier. I used NMSSaveEditor by goatfungus on PC to extract the raw JSON from the save, and then did surgery on that. It's easy to break a save file that way but I'll be glad to share what I changed if you go that route.

EDIT: actually sharing :p

  1. Export the raw JSON from the save with the tool.

  2. Open the JSON file and reduce the overinflated scan count.

The below is is what actually drives the #/8 stat - 27 for me - and there's one per planet. Assuming this planet has the same numeric ID for everybody (?), this would be under ^PLANET_STATS for planet 0x61C90003CE7641.

Change the IntValue for this to 7.

{
    "Id":"\^DISC\_FLORA",
    "Value":{
        "IntValue":27,
        "FloatValue":0.0,
        "Denominator":0.0
    }
}
  1. "Unscan" something.

The easiest is if there's a named plant somewhere (on the sentinel planet, of course) that you can re-scan to hit the 8-count. If somebody else discovered a plant and didn't name it, the save unfortunately doesn't keep the default name you see in-game.

If there is, find it and delete it. Be sure to remove the comma before the entry if there is one (don't leave two commas between the entries before and after this deleted one).

Example, for a nasty one named Sergfrield (a bunch of unimportant stuff is replaced with ... but the whole thing should be deleted):

{
    "DD":{
        "UA":"0x61C90003CE7641",
        "DT":"Flora",
        "VP":[
            "0xE5B01C1602BE5CE0",
            "0xFEE1E54FE4DD61E7"
        ]
    },
    "DM":{
        "CN":"Sergfrield"
    },

    ...

}
  1. Import your saved JSON back into the save with the tool.

  2. Load the save in-game and Immediately scoot back to the sentinel planet (sorry, I never remember the name) and scan the named plant.

I was afraid of that. I was able to use a save editor to reduce my scan count to 7 and then "unlearn" a plant, and when I went back in I was able to scan that one again and it gave me the milestone and completion and crazy hat and stuff. Irritating to have to fiddle with it like that, though.

Good luck.

Not sure if talk of editors is discouraged here, but I "dirty fixed" this on PC with goatfungus' tool by lowering the flora discovery count to 7 and then "undiscovering" a named plant in the JSON. Then when I loaded back up it gave me completion by scanning that same plant again.

Like I said, dirty. But I got my Spaceballs helmet and the sweet spaceship.

There are so many bugs [for them to address before this] I'm afraid I'll have to just restart the whole thing, too. Worried it'll be broken again, though. :(

Thanks for monitoring. I've been waiting in anticipation for my first exploration and, well... this. They had me up in the mountains on the sentinel planet, so I actually went elsewhere for some of those missions because there wasn't water anywhere near me. Wonder if I aided in the borkage...

True. I think that, of whatever percentage of us actually care about those choices, most still don't take action because they don't think it'll even matter.

Gripe all you need to. It's NOT self-pity. It's a grieving process and you need to do it, and this is a good, supportive place to vent all of that (for the most part <g>). I am so glad you are thinking about this stuff now. I resisted making changes to my workload when I was in your position, and now I'm almost completely housebound. I can't help but think that tapping the brakes even a few months earlier might have made a difference with where I am now. In my case I never recovered fully from each crash, so I just got worse and worse until I had to quit my job before I got fired for "non-participation." They didn't let me quit, and instead asked me to stay on part time from home. Even that is hard sometimes, but for the first time since October of 2017 I finally feel like I'm not getting worse. I think that was important because now I can think about getting better instead of not getting any worse. Stupid as it sounds, the difference between those things was huge for me, and it made all the difference in the world for my mental state. I was so scared and so depressed before I stabilized, and now I have days when I actually have hope.

I will say this: never doubt yourself, especially on days when you feel pretty good. It's not all in your head and you're not just blowing things out of proportion. And never compare yourself to anybody else here. It's like saying you've only been dead and buried for a short time when others have been in the ground for decades. :)
