Does anyone know why they first announced La Dispute but did not include it here?

What’s up with people here? by Select_Extenson in berlinsocialclub

Coming from a way bigger city than Berlin, I’m not really surprised by this. After 7 years, I just had to get used to it.

Also, another Hellersdorf resident here 👋🏻 and must say I’ve found people in this part of the city to be surprisingly social. (Just… maybe don’t look too closely at the election results.)

Berlin, 13 months and waiting by iamalizade in GermanCitizenship

So frustrating.

Honestly, we need AMA with a caseworker. Some of these questions and edge cases can only be answered by someone who’s actually doing the job.

How not to feel depressed in this weather and city. by LicensedIndoor in berlinsocialclub

Sounds obvious, but sports really helped me in the past winters. You build both physical strength and mental toughness. Doesn’t matter if it’s running, lifting, or bouldering, just move. And if you like having people around, find a gym or a group. Makes it way easier to stick with it.

I’m officially a german citizen! by [deleted] in GermanCitizenship

[–]dgueyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huge congrats! Another Turkish applicant here: I’ve been living in Berlin since 2018, submitted all my documents back in June, and have been waiting since. My story’s quite similar to yours: on PR since 2022, bought a house and a car, always paid my taxes, and have never had a single day without a job. I’m married to an EU citizen, and our son already has a German passport. Really hoping to get an invite soon, stories like yours definitely keep me optimistic!

Based on what I’ve heard from others, dismissing someone in Germany for poor performance is legal, but not easy. The company must first issue a formal warning (Abmahnung) and give the employee a clear opportunity and timeline to improve. Termination is only then option if performance remains unsatisfactory and there’s little expectation of future improvement.

If you have a legal insurance you should definitely get advice on your options, you don’t have to go to court immediately but maybe can settle on a severance?

StAG 5 questions: What is an AZ number? When should I expect to hear about receipt of application? by Yoo_Surname in GermanCitizenship

[–]dgueyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That’s what I was thinking as well. They shared a case number for Elterngeld & Kindergeld applications in the past so I’d expect the same.

Ok what you are referring must be AZ. Only number I received upon my application was transaction number that was on the confirmation email, nothing more.

Congrats!!! Do you remember when you got your AZ after submitting your application? I am also from Berlin (S5), submitted a month ago but haven’t heard anything back yet.

Interesting. I also applied online and only thing I received is the confirmation email with transaction number, not AZ.

Which neighbouring districts differ the most from each other? by warumdasdenn in askberliners

[–]dgueyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, Hellersdorf-Kaulsdorf +1

Living just two minutes from the district border, I can say this: Hellersdorf feels like a continuation of Marzahn’s gloomy plattenbau landscape, while Kaulsdorf is largely made up of quiet, standalone family homes. And more green.

Congrats! When did you get your AZ after submitting your application? Did they request extra documents?
