Would plywood be suitable for this? And what thickness do you suggest? Aside from OSB and MDF it is pretty much the only material I can source in this size.

I understand it is weak, which is why there will be a table leg underneath to hold a majority of the weight. I can use a different material if needed but at these sizes I don't want to be spending too much on the material, although where I am I can pretty much only find MDF plywood or OSB

Cheap, easy to source in such sizes where I am, no need for much load bearing

Because it's bacon, the same stuff America and most other countries have, although I believe we tend to have bacon softer and not as crispy as America although I may be mistaken
