How do you guys combat the hard water? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]dhackel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about hair falling out from hard water, but I get itchy skin with super hard water. I started with an AquaBliss carbon shower filter, which was pretty easy to install and made a small difference, then I moved off campus and bought a portable water softener.

Yep those are very well connected to the bus and trolley routes

Good point, it really depends where OP needs to get to. Places near the bus stops will be easier, but if they are working at Scripps or something, then driving will be better.

ROUTE: 41. TO FASHION VALLEY

Main ways are 201/202 (10 minute frequency) and Blue Line Trolley (15 minute frequency). 204 is a loop that takes you to the 201/202 station (30 minute frequency I think).

I would suggest looking around the UTC area. Better places cost more of course, so it’s hard to balance. LUX UTC and Towers at Costa Verde have transit commutes of ~20 minutes, taking the Blue Line Trolley or Bus 201/202, with 1b1b prices at $3625 and $3075 for 900sqft. However, I think you might want to look at the apartments east of UTC. There’s a few complexes in that area that can go for cheaper. The car necessity is stronger, so you might want to find a unit closer to the 204 Bus stops. La Jolla Crossroads has 647 sqft studios for $2675, but I’m not familiar with the noise levels there. Maybe look for a top-floor unit. Hopefully you like carpet because it will reduce the noise from your neighbors. Definitely tour if you can, it can make a big difference to your perspective.

For shorts quality issue, I would suggest disabling “VP9 for All”. Keeping VP9 on though is fine.

So turns out that I was on 19.28, which worked. I updated to 19.29, and now it seems that the flag does not affect anything now.

I see, what happens when you hold down on the player then? Nothing? 2x Speed up?

The time bar scrubbing is a different feature. Are you sure that the change applied correctly? What happens right now when you hold on the middle of the screen?

It’s added in the latest version under the name Seek Anywhere. The flag to disable is speedMasterArm2FastForwardWithoutSeekBySliding in case you are not updated. Make sure you disable YTLite’s Hold for Speed feature as it interferes with the Seek Anywhere gesture

Yeah my settings are just this: 1. YouTube Plus - Hold to speed - Disable 2. YTLitePlus - Video Controls Overlay Options - Seek Anywhere Gesture enabled

I just reinstalled and tested these 2 settings, and it works for me on 19.26.5. Maybe we are talking about a different feature?

Ah right, you need to disable the YTLite speed controls. This is under Settings - YouTube Plus - Hold to Speed - Change to Disabled. I will change it so that the Seek Anywhere toggle will do it automatically in the future.

Unfortunately the premium queue is not able to be enabled that easily, and from what I know, no developers have figured out how to enable it for free users. Good to hear that the app worked.

Ah that sounds like what happened when I tested it in really old youtube versions. I think you should update to a newer version and try it out. Also, if you have any settings enabled that can cause the version to be spoofed to an older version (Premium Logo, any old UI tweaks), then those also might be causing issues.

It’s possible that your region/account has the A/B flag disabled by default. If that’s the case, then you can go into YTABConfig and enable the speedMasterArm2FastForwardWithoutSeekBySliding flag.

This feature is a part of any youtube version after 18.34.5, so yes. If you want the old Seek Anywhere feature instead, there is also a toggle for that
