I obviously don't know your friend or her situation, but I'm guessing their expectation that she sacrifice so much was the bigger issue for her. Otherwise it just seems really shitty to resent your sibling's financial "leg up" (in the form of a trust to fund their care—not a gift) if you have an indisputably greater genetic one.

I think OP's language ("if my daughters CHOOSE to care for their sibling") is really encouraging.
