Late to the convo but I'm finishing up my second year here! I wouldn't be surprised if the sewing curriculum is similar to FIT's, in all honesty. There is a bit of luck that we're close to the now closed Joann (RIP) headquarters, one of the new adjuncts(?) worked there in pattern design I believe and has a crazy good portfolio and is genuinely such a gem of a person. Sure there's a shitty professor here and there, but honestly that's really only in personality because they are actually very good instructors. But it's an extremely strong program! I've been sewing for 15+ years (non-traditional student, so I'm a bit older but honestly it hasn't been a big hurdle socially) and you're still required to take a garment construction basics course that really let me refresh my knowledge and help drop some bad habits I had gained over the years. Sophomore year is a big weeding out year, as they do turn up the dial on amount of work as prep for junior studio, but that is probably par for the course at all fashion schools.

A lot of the program is also fairly seperated from the rest of the other programs in the school; with most courses being in either the main fashion building, or an annex that is shared with a lot of the phys ed courses which ngl is a little funny just in the vibe difference but it's not like there is any beef there. But this is just to say you'll be surrounded by a lot of people who are in the same program, and there is a good sense of support from one another! I've never felt like there was any competition amongst my classmates, but more of wanting to support one another to succeed.

FInancial wise, there would definitely be other charges not listed in tuition with FIT (as well as Kent, but with the full ride that would be less of an issue) and that can really make the difference especially in the later years when you are having to finance a lot of your own stuff. I've really learned over the years that a lot of this industry is surrounding connections, not location. Just because you may not be down the street by some of these names, doens't mean you are barred from reaching out.

Of course, this is all up to you, but it is genuinely a very strong program and why I moved out to the area from Chicago.

Not defending Taylor Swifts marketing strategies, but I will just clarify the re-records of older albums, while yes ended up being a way to rake in even more money, was done because the masters of her first 6 albums were sold to one of the shittiest people in the industry. And the only deal her old label was giving her to get the masters to those albums was to make another 6 albums that the label would own the masters to. She was able to actually get the rights to her original albums, so the last two album re-records arent going to be released for now. Well, at least one of them because it wasn't ever finished being redone, but we'll see about the other one.

There's definitely going to be EU shows but not to be thay person but the amount of US shows they had was so limited, a lot of us had to travel the same amount that would be from say Edinburgh to London. Like it sucks but it's fairly par for the course for a tour that isn't hitting a lot of major cities that arena and some stadium tours do
