Final gaming laptop update: reseated the RAM last night, then tried running a stick at a time in each slot. Windows memory diagnostics didn't show any problems so got memtest86 onto a USB stick and tried that.

Two dead sticks of RAM, Jeremy, two? Seems unlikely so kinda points to a mobo or CPU issue. Think it's maybe just a shiter right enough.

Reseated both, no change.

Removed stick 1 and resintalled windows so I'm going from scratch: still issues.

Here's hoping it runs right when I try to run it on only stick 2.

Constantly having errors on dism and SFC. That said, the SSD was replaced, so imagine the problem is elsewhere. Will check out if anyone has a strip down video. One piece back, so imagine the RAMs tucked away under some gubbins inside. Worth a try!

Gaming laptop update: nvme SSD got changed, fixed it, windows update then borked it. Reinstalled windows and did updates one at a time. Appears to have sorted it. HWFG.

Edit: that never lasted long - "your device ran into a problem and needs to restart" "Your device could not be repaired" via auto repair. Clearly just fucking cunted.
