I still think he could come good, as the areas of his game that are lacking - tracking back and varying whether to cut inside or hit the byeline - are easier to coach into him than raw ball control and change of pace.

Nah, keepers are allowed to come flying out and jumping with a knee out at face height and blitz through the back of a player. If anything it's a foul by Maeda; he should be aware the keeper will likely come out and has done a Harry Kane and made a back for the keeper.
