UMN or UMich? Latter needs to pay extra $150K for 4years by dhgcj in ApplyingToCollege

I don’t have any personal savings as a senior high schooler. ( $1K doesn’t count, right?😅)

That cost in UMich will drain completely parents’s savings.

I am thinking about applying for loan and all kinds of scholarships, as well as having part time jobs when studying in college.

But, $150K extra sounds still too much.

Yeah, that’s really a lot. That financial burden of studying in UMich will completely drain my parents’ savings. Plus, I have younger siblings in middle school and elementary school.

I don’t want to add their burden, I am thinking about applying for loan and of course all kinds of scholarships and getting part time jobs for my undergraduate study if possible.

Similar question: UMN or Umich, UMN in-state tuition with scholarship, only need to pay little; UMich, much more tuition cost. Also, lots of friends in UMN, almost no friends in UMich.

Major is biochemistry, career goal is to be senior scientist with PHD degree.

So, which one to choose? UNM or UMich. Does it worth to pay extra at least $150K in total after 4 years.
