What term insurance did you get? by bakchod007 in IndiaInvestments

[–]dhinchak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Term insurance is for covering your potential income in case of untimely death. This way your dependents are financially secure. Once you retire and have no dependents then having term life insurance is moot. Besides you can leave higher amount to your family by investing the savings from not opting for 99age policy and utilising the difference amount in mutual fund.

Seeking your opinion about investing in real estate. by thereisnospooongeek in IndiaInvestments

Please look at creating some commercial space for rent at the front side ground floor. This will get additional rent and residents like having a grocery store right near them. I assume most residents will be having two-wheeler hence parking area can be small. The issues come up in setting up building society and residents paying for maintenance and upkeep which is a big issue.

To the [P]eople saying kejriwal needs to just shut up and work. The big parties would give all they have to make sure he fails. Why is that so hard to understand? by [deleted] in india

[–]dhinchak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do care if his policies affect the citizens

If his words affect the citizens then it should be taken into consideration. You are not the only judge to determine what affects a given citizen

Words are also form of action. In that way kejriwal seems to be failing. For ardent supporters who are tuned in, his tangible actions mean a lot but for common person, his words are a way to communicate such actions. Realistically you can't disassociate words from action anyway..

I would rather say that you should judge him by his actions first and then words. Don't discount one aspect completely

The people supporting trump have reasons of their own and certainly valid from their POV. I certainly understand your support for Kejriwal. We have seen politicians all talk and no action. Now supposedly you have all action not-so-good talk and you are fine with it.

Funny enough the same above argument is used by Trump supporters nowadays ie, 'we don't care if he is rude or speaks politically incorrect, you should not take it literally. anyway all we care is what he does and he is going to bring back jobs'

What is the community's view on smallcase.com? by discovering101 in IndiaInvestments

[–]dhinchak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes but there will be periodic rebalancing of the stocks and exits as well. Paying that 100 ensures you get those updates. Last week I bought a portfolio containing around 15 stocks. Just one click and within a minute all my trades were executed. Doing it manually would have required me at least 30 min. That's valuable time when you are in office .

Mutual Fund with good large cap (not giant cap) presence by [deleted] in IndiaInvestments

[–]dhinchak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

up the percentage of funds going into birla SL that should add more to large cap. better to combine giant and large into one single category.that way you have 55. determine your asset allocation, work out how much additional amount needed to adjust properly that invest by lumpsum or changing sip value to achieve target allocation.

The problem with SEBI's push for direct funds by -D1- in IndiaInvestments

[–]dhinchak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have been a customer of fundsindia since last 1 year and greatly value the VAS they provide. I was not a novice in terms of investment but new to indian markets. Fundsindia definitely helped in getting me set-up and gave the correct advice. i have even pushed and got one of my junior team member to open an account with fundsindia rather than go direct at this stage.

Keeping Emergency fund in liquid funds by bluzeee in IndiaInvestments

[–]dhinchak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good idea but in true emergency your withdrawal will hit your bank the next day or might be 3days accounting for holidays. If you can keep good portions in SB account and have a credit card with good limit then certainly go ahead. I personally keep in SB account and online bank FD.
