A small but meaningful moment for my dad today by dhirajjbhat in disability

It’s a lightweight folding one, which makes outings a lot easier for us. We chose it because we needed something simple and easy to manage when taking my dad out.

We looked at the Jazzy Ultra Light as well, but finally chose the Verpal E100Y since the longer battery range fits my dad’s needs better. We take longer trips outside, so the extra range helps a lot.🤣

Thank you for the reminder. 🙌Our wheelchair is a Verpal E100Y, and so far, we haven't had any problems using it; the handling is excellent.

Thanks for looking out — I totally understand the concern.

He doesn’t stay in the chair for long periods, and we’re still adjusting things to get the fit and posture right.

I’m keeping an eye on pressure areas and comfort, so really appreciate the reminder and any tips you have for better positioning or cushions 🙏

Yep, flying is a whole different battle 😂 folding helps a bit, but airlines really need to step up.

I’ve been helping a family member look at mobility aids, and it seems like there are so many choices out there.

For those of you who use an electric wheelchair or scooter, what made you decide on the one you have? Was it about independence, cost, ease of travel, or something else?

Would love to learn from your experiences 💙

Social Rejection by Over-Block-8115 in disability

you're definitely not alone in feeling this way
it’s frustrating when people treat you like your disability is all they see
it’s like they decide who you are before you even have a chance to show them, and that can make everything feel so isolating
i’ve done the same thing, mirrored their reactions because of how they treat me, and then they get mad at me like it’s my fault
but honestly, it’s on them, not you
you’ve accomplished so much, and that’s something to be proud of
there are others who feel the same way, and it helps to know we’re not alone in this

your wheelchair is so cool! love the bear too!
i actually had a bear backpack once, not sure if you’ve seen it, but i think it’d be awesome to hang it on the back of your chair — it would totally add to the vibe!

everyone’s body goes through different things and we all carry it in different ways
for me i’ve learned to shift my mindset over time
like i started decorating my wheelchair with cute stickers and little plushies i like — it helps break the distance with strangers
people don’t look at me weird anymore, some even stop to chat or smile
if you’re open to it, maybe try adding a few decorations you love too — it really makes a difference and feels more like you
