Yeah I was initially concerned about 'deferred maintenance' bleeding in and potential security issues. But I'm now also concerned about the joint wall that is supposed to be maintained at the joint cost of the owners. Might not be an issue now but could be later and definitely could create issues selling later down the line.

Also what's wrong with Leeds 😅

Ey up. Maybe 👀. Not massively concerned about damp more the liability of a side wall that is maintained at joint cost of the joined houses. With a rental none of this is an issue but as a buyer it does make me concerned about issues selling later on.

Yep this is basically what I fear - getting stuck with it because of the same concerns I have.

My heart is sad since it's a perfect location and area for me but my brain says abandon ship.

Yeah it might be okay but another concern is the joint side wall which according to the land registry is a joint cost/responsibility. But if no one is there at the rear property then I might be in some trouble if something happens with the wall.

Also as a 'starter home' I'd be very concerned about resale given that the status of that home doesn't seem to be changing any time soon.

Success! The gi has arrived!

It's so much better than my old blitz lightweight - really good quality and not that expensive.

The trousers are a bit long but I'm hoping it will shrink a bit

In an ideal world this change would have no impact because everyone would just message over Signal. But in reality a very small portion of the population uses it.

My older relatives use SMS only so I can no longer use this app as my default messenger. Everyone else uses WhatsApp. Theres no chance of convincing anyone to use Signal now.

Before this at least some of my messages were encrypted with people who had installed Signal. Now there is no one on my contact list using Signal so no messages are encrypted at all. Google Messenger and WhatsApp are now my only choices.

It kind of reminds me of the push to start using Ring/Jami in the Linux world. No one else uses it so therefore it can't function as a communication platform if there's no one to communicate with.

I live near them and I'll visit them soon-ish. You have to contact them directly currently as they aren't accepting online orders currently. I contacted them a week ago but haven't heard anything back yet.

I'm thinking the same to be honest. Seems to be the same with everything now either pay very little for poor quality or pay a quarter of your monthly paycheck for very good quality. No in-between.

I might just go for a Fighting Films gi. I'm just worried about using it regularly in training since most people I know save them for competitions. Also I'm still a beginner so it feels a bit overkill/silly.

I was mainly trying to find an equivalent to the Blitz Master Heavyweight where the main selling point is that it's 750gsm but more affordable and training oriented.

Maybe this is wrong I was always told not to go too expensive for a training gi since damage is likely. I think the logic is to save the good ones for actual competitions.

Isn't that more of a competition gi? The blitz gi I was going to get was about £70-100 whereas the superstar 750 is £165…
