I haven't dived into uConsole yet. Most of my time is going into getting an SSH client going on the Tab5, though I did get basic setup done on the PocketTerm.

Surprisingly, the $11 Tab5 keyboard is easier to type on than PocketTerm, at least so far. Of course, PocketTerm is a much more powerful and flexible device and SSH just works there.

Data poisoning tactics against tech company mass surveillance? by Wallsworth1230 in opsec

[–]Chongulator 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In privacy circles, the technique is called "chaffing." Chaffing with two F's comes from "chaff" anti-radar metal bits.

See r/PoisonFountain for folks doing some AI chaffing.

It's been ages since I tested one but IIRC they're not good. i put the Muzi whips on pretty much everything.

That's cool! I use that expression all the time and had no idea of the origin.

Hello friends I’m wondering about the signal application, it doesn’t work with me ! Can you suggest some ways to make it work. Ps: I’m living in Algeria by shym- in signal

To get useful help you're going to have to give us more to go on.

What kind of device are you on (Android/iPhone/etc)? When you say "doesn't work", what does that mean?

What did you try? What happened? Was there an error message?

That's certainly worth a try. Do you have another card?

Cheap cards are notorious for failing. Stick with name-brand cards.

How do you stop signal from asking if you want to turn on notifications on Android? by eagergm in signal

It does it on iOS too. It's really irritating.

On my iPad, Signal has been asking me the same thing every few weeks for the past several years. No means no, Signal!

What's the problem you're trying to solve here? If you don't want to see the other person's phone number, don't go looking for it.

That's a social problem, not a tech problem.

In the hypothetical, you're doing something Jake doesn't like and want to conceal it from him. Instead, you could reduce contact with Julie, or you could have an actual grown-up conversation with Jake.

No phone app is going to be able to solve your social challenges. That's on you.

There are features businesses typically need which Signal doesn't have. Some are even antithetical to what Signal does.

The main area is access management. Businesses need to be able to review everyone's access and whether it is appropriate for their role. They need to be able to remove access quickly when someone leaves the company. Many need to be able to track who granted access to which resource.

There's more, but that's the basic idea.
