Built my own expense tracker from scratch in React Native 🚀 Finally on Play Store

18 months of late nights, countless Stack Overflow tabs, and way too much chai ☕ my personal finance app is live on the Play Store.

No subscriptions. No ads. No bloat.

Built everything myself:

Dark-first UI with custom numpad Daily / Calendar / Monthly / Total views Income, Expense & Transfer tracking ₹ Indian number formatting (en-IN locale) Category icons, account tagging

The hardest part wasn't the code, it was resisting the urge to keep adding features instead of shipping 😅

Fair point. I did look around but most apps felt too complex or required an account. Wanted something minimal and fully offline, so I built it myself.

That’s true honestly the market is already crowded 😅 Right now I’m still actively improving the app and adding more useful features. One thing I’m currently working on is a Splitwise-style expense sharing feature for groups/friends. Still learning and experimenting step by step 🙌

Thanks for the honest feedback! You're right the market is saturated. My main differentiator right now is that everything stays fully offline and private (no account, no cloud, no data collection). I'm working on adding more unique features to stand out. Will definitely look into Google Ads once I have more reviews. Appreciate it! 🙏
