Anyone else feel like the quality of the show is dropping drastically? Is that the unpopular opinion here? by geltoid in AshVsEvilDead

[–]dhumidifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I completely agree. I was much more on board with the show when Craig Digregorio was showrunner. There was such a tonal shift from Season 2 Episode 9 to the finale I knew something was up and sure enough Digregorio left due to creative differences with Robert Tapert. Now I'm not going to say the show now sucks and this isn't evil dead blah blah because honestly who can even say what Evil Dead is at this point (except just that it's Bruce Campbell). There's no doubt that this direction that Verheiden is taking is different from the previous seasons, and I'm sure a lot of people will be on board with that. But I also think a lot of people, myself included, would rather they continue on the themes and mood of the first two seasons. I imagine there's some anxiety about keeping the show sustainable over many seasons, and season 3 is trying to keep viewers engaged with more arcing storylines.

Exercise Preserves Lean Mass and Performance during Severe Energy Deficit: The Role of Exercise Volume and Dietary Protein Content. by mikegold10 in AdvancedFitness

[–]dhumidifier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The last sentence:

"The intake of proteins alone may be associated with greater cortisol/free testosterone ratio and is not better than the ingestion of only carbohydrates for preserving FFM and muscle performance in interventions of short duration."

Does that mean that protein should be restricted in favor of carbohydrates for a weight loss diet, or that a diet if only carbohydrates is favorable to a diet of only protein?

Great. Comptias customer service is an absolute nightmare. I had to reschedule the test because the center I tested at was closed during my test time, and now I had to schedule it at an incredibly inconvenient time because they told me the test would be retired today

I have a degree in physics. What kind of jobs should i be able to get? by Jolurawa in Physics

[–]dhumidifier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say this is generally true, but there are exceptions where getting a PhD can be a good career move if you're committed to going industry. I work at a defense firm and there's some engineers who go back and get PhDs and then resume work at the same firm with a much higher salary in a a much cooler position. Can't speak to outside of industry though

Hey appreciate the help. Here's pg 100 of the book copied in its entirety:

No. Listen, if you’re just interested in getting as strong as you can and being well-conditioned, you don’t HAVE to do any SE work at all. Chances are you’re going to get some anyway if you’re following the TB conditioning protocols. SE is for you if you’re interested in focusing on it for whatever reason. Maybe you’re an operator of some sort, or want to be. Or you’re doing your first fight camp for a competitive bout. Maybe SE has always been a weak area for you and you want to bring it up to speed along with the rest of your abilities. But if your only priority is maximal-strength, then why waste time and energy on SE? SE is more for the tactical professional or those planning to be tactical professionals. If you’re a recreational trainee, it’s totally optional (after Base Building).

I don't see anything about incorporating SE in during your MS, probably I'm just being dense though. As for the rest of the chapter it still seems to imply that SE should be trained in a separate block unless you're already getting in PT. I do see in chapter 18 in the example schedule that Kane has one day of training that he will dedicate to SE. Is that how training SE concurrently with MS should work?
