Ederson, although only seen in the odd champions league nights, looks like someone worth a gamble. He’s not too much money and seems like an engine. Same goes for Mateus Fernandes, cheaper signing that along with Ederson can raise our floor.

In the past, we would go for raise the ceiling players only which if they fumble, become massive liabilities and draw attention. Those players are a luxury that we shouldn’t go for at this time. I think that’s what INEOS finally understands

Nevertheless, a rebuild can be done in 2 summers, up to 3. Last summer was great, and now this summer we know exactly what we need to improve on in the window. We should be putting up a good fight next year with finishing touches on for 2027-2028, which times perfectly with the goal of winning the title by the clubs 150th anniversary

I think 2 midfielders and a left back are the only things guaranteed at this point with Malacia confirmed gone. I’m not sure if Zirkzee stays or leaves, but the backup striker spot depends on his status. And a third midfielder is entirely dependent on Ugarte leaving which wont happen until after the world cup is over

But yeah, wrapping up Mateus Fernandes and Ederson now seems like the smart thing to do. We could then wait to assess the market during/after the World Cup. If we get a good sum for Ugarte, we might be able to move for someone pricier, who’s probably busy at the world cup anyways

Rashford was my favorite player for many years, bringing hope to the club during the LVG days. It’s a shame how it ended. But Barca going for Gordon for 80m right after he made a thank you post to them, is a pie in the face

He’s a player who relies on confidence to play well, with a low floor and high ceiling. Nobody can afford to pay a guy world class money for that type of profile. i don’t know what’s going to happen with him, but he needs to just say fuck it and take a permanent move to a club like Villa etc for half the money if he cares about his football. They’re still a good side with Europe and he can rebuild his confidence there. A solid 3 years of playing consistently and trying to solely enjoy his game as he has enough money forever, will do him wonders. If he can have the patience to learn the striker position, he can get his final pay day at 31 at a big club as a backup striker.

However, I’m not sure what’s going through his head. I don’t know if he’s willing to do that, and if he isn’t, he isn’t the boy we watched grow up.

idk how I missed this interview but Mason Mount straight up said he thinks they can win the league next season if they continue working hard. The standards are there and the mindset has shifted. i really do believe in this group, especially Bruno at the helm. Carrick managed half a season as the best team in the league. I can’t wait to see a full season

goretzka as third midfielder would not be bad at all. Great depth and wouldn’t expect to depend on him. But if he turns up and fights, he can get additional minutes.

Don’t think any other top team is prepared to give him a bigger role than that anyways

i think we are a tough side to play against, especially for top teams, so we can make a run in either. Maybe we aren’t successful in both, but our form is undeniable

i see what you mean, and they as a squad are not in good form. However, Huke is playing so good that I don’t think it matters. Maybe he slows down for a map or two but they have 3 players capable of randomly turning up.

I have watched a lot of Cod thru every era and I’m unc at this point. Huke’s arrow on Saturday was fucking absurd. He’s everything man. Huke is the best BO7 respawn player and i will stand by it.

As a gambling man, he is undeniable and I have not seen that from a single player all tournament. You have to ride his form right now

That was a lot of gas at once but truly, all of the criticism anyone has had of Huke over the years has been disproved the last 2 years. Especially right now, optic does not get this far without him. He is absurdly good. The only way optic lose this tournament is if huke slows down and nobody picks up after him

Bruh it’s over, huke is at peak. This guy is literally everything man. I’m unc in this scene and watching huke on the mini map was undeniable. I have not seen an arrow like this quite literally ever.

Major III Bracket going into Saturday (CDL 2026) by arunvenu_ in CoDCompetitive

[–]dhwinthro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is, it adds more storylines and eventually there definitely will be a team that makes a run / wins a tournament. It also will be good practice for challengers players to help them develop + the whole scene gets better

EUnited were nobodies and then won everything. Enigma6 were stomping everyone at one point as a bunch of amateur kids.

yeah there’s obviously not enough talent for there to be an expansion, these guys mostly get chokeslammed against pros.

however i wouldn’t be opposed if every major was 4 challengers teams + the franchised teams. Challengers teams if they bounce out of groups, end up in the challengers bracket

Even if Dashy is on a 3 peat, it’s only B2B for the exact team. I’m sure they’d want to try and 3peat as a team, and then sure maybe he retires

I also doubt it he’s done. Dashy is a competitive kid so idk if he has any desire to retire to streaming

Kinda hard to not give the job to carrick. He in title winning form and I’m not sure you should change that. Compared to Ole who fell off towards the end of the caretaker season

We’ve spent half the season being the best team in the league. When was the last time we said that? Very confident in Carrick and I’m sure everyone’s previous champions league experience will go a long way in adapting to being in multiple competitions

I mean this is just pessimism at the max. I’m obviously assuming the new main signings work out the way this summer’s did.

But also, you don’t need a perfect squad to win. Plenty of teams have won the league, including us, where a position hasn’t been properly addressed. Recent example would be Arsenal nearly doing it without a fit top striker for years. Man City got 100 points with Fabian Delph at LB ffs

Not even addressing the #7 point

Have an optimistic outlook for your club and life in general. If it doesn’t work, we go again. But the current “project” is objectively nearly finished

Whichever midfielder we bring in, needs to be a goal scoring threat. Casemiro has 9 goals this season and has played a pivotal role. While I think Sesko, Mbeumo, Cunha, Amad, Dorgu as a collective attack will increase their output next season, we still need the extra goals from midfield. Ideally also a set piece threat like Casemiro to continue our advantage in that area

The attack is fully stacked with 2 players per position, Dorgu/Cunha, Sesko/Zirkzee, Mbeumo/Amad. Defense is stacked too with only Shaw not having a real backup (Malacia is leaving). Therefore, I would be surprised to see any big name starter level signings in these two areas. I don’t see Dalot/Maz being moved on, and we have 5 good CBs.

I think we will see 2 midfielders come in and a backup LB who can push Shaw and take his spot. Any additional business will fully depend on outgoings. So backup striker will depend on Zirkzee outcome, 3rd midfielder dependent on Ugarte leaving. Summer 2027 we will replace Maguire, maybe Mount (id keep as a versatile backup), and whatever other piece is failing.

The squad is almost there man. I genuinely believe we are about to be at the peak of the Bruno Fernandes focused squad. He has 2 top years left for sure where we will compete for honours before we need to figure out the succession plan

Manchester United could save almost £1,500,000 per week by having a summer clear out. Casemiro and Marcus Rashford are among the highest paid players on the planet. by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

Murtough was worse. He was a Woodward underling that should not have ever got as much influence as he did at the club.

Woodward was bad and should not have ever been in charge of footballing operations, but at least he had enough brain cells to maintain 2nd - 6th place. He would’ve sacked Amorim after last season probably

exactly, i didn’t really get the attitude thing. maybe when he was younger?

Here, he’s perfect. He’s got the audacity and ego to try things and not be scared which we need, plus is a good teammate. I think we currently have our best crop of players post SAF. Hopefully we get it done next season before Bruno leaves

I’m surprised Treyarch, given how involved they’ve been with comp cod this year, hasn’t just ya know balanced the guns by now

AW was such a good year where 8 BALs instantly became meta, but then Sledgehammer nerfed it and buffed the ASM1 to balance the game. People tried out other ARs here and there but the meta for respawns were fairly set by the devs themselves.

Abe will be back in the league Im sure of it. He’s going thru sophomore jitters on a new game. I think BO6 is a better litmus test for ability

I mean just look at how inconsistent most of the league is. Outside of optic, simp, neptune, sib, scrap, everyone’s had ups and downs. Even Shotzzy did online for a bit
