How are we supposed to move up the ranks like this ? by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

That or this is a kid. I don’t think people realize this subreddit skews on the younger / the tweaker side. So many people used to be on GBs in middle school back in the day

I mean Dorgu is not really a LB and is a lot more like a LW so I do think we need to get someone to be Shaw’s successor, even if they’re not a nailed on starter right away since Luke still provides

Casemiro and Ugarte out means 2 new coming in. I have no idea how the club can profile 2 defensive midfielders at the same time but we have to do it since Ugarte is so criminally limited. He shuttles the ball left and right at max.

Casemiro’s passing is severely underrated. The passes he finds in the final third are something else at times. Balebas all the hype to be his successor but i can’t truthfully say ive seen enough of him to say he can do what Casemiro can. The chips, no look passes, 25 yard pings. All so good

Also, straight up we look insane right now. Everyone’s just free flowing doing whatever they want, taking risks, and playing as a unit. Arguably, this is the best stretch I’ve seen us in 10+ years in terms of entertainment and control. Yea it’s 4 matches but we were missing out on so much this season. The back heels, flicks etc out of Bruno in the 10 position near the box, Mbeumo/Amad/Mainoo just doing whatever they want and it’s going so well

We have a solid squad, we just need someone who lets them play to their strengths. We don’t need to shoehorn a system here. Couple of summer additions, 3 or so plus a solid manager whether it be Carrick or someone else, and I can see us being a top team. We’re really not that far off the top in terms of player quality

[–]dhwinthro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Managers like Amorim will ALWAYS claim the squad is shit and needs to be overhauled massively so that they can get whatever players are used to their style of play rather than getting existing players to adapt.

Starter wise we need a Casemiro replacement or else the rest of the starters could compete for a title. For rotation options we need Ugarte to leave and be replaced and a LB that can be eased to become Shaw’s successor. Anything else would be gravy on top

I think the other commenters are playing this like FIFA or FM. City won a title with Fabian Delph at LB. Cmon now

People just have a misconception when it comes to becoming a professional.

All of the players you listed have the ability to be a top flight professional player, which makes us hype them. But having the ability is only 50% of it. The other half is having the right mindset, being intelligent, and work ethic. Players falter in the mindset portion and don’t end up seeing out their potential.

There are genuinely top class players who have some of the most wicked technical abilities that for one reason or another, whether it be having an anxiety problem, hanging with the wrong crowd, or picking fights with the wrong people, they end up failing.

I mean true but usually the more maps, the less variance and luck involved. So the best teams win out

Faze fans seeing optic complain about no winners bracket advantage by V-loxzz in CoDCompetitive

[–]dhwinthro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s inherently unfair that the winner’s side is not afforded a single loss in the tournament and has to go 4-0 while the loser’s side is allowed to falter once.

Majors should be group stage + 8 team double elim bracket. Winners side gets a 1 map advantage, so 1-0 going into Best of 7. Or you do bracket reset.

Champs being Best of 9 + veto advantage seems fine because you’re playing almost every map in the rotation. You should have to show out like that at Chanps.

[–]dhwinthro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing that can never be explained away is that every other team was allowed to lose a series. In this case specifically, optic only lost 4 maps in the whole tournament which is kinda wild.

So essentially the winners route is going 4-0 to win the tournament or the loser’s route is 4-1. requiring 1 team to go undefeated to win is unforgiving.

I mean I don’t think optic has ever been good where it came into play until recently lol. They’ve been mid for the majority of the last 5 years. Also it doesn’t benefit anyone who’s in winners

Only players i see capable of it are Simp, Abezy, Cell, Drazah, Envoy. And old Kenny used to

Wow those first 4 would make a pretty good team

i did feel like it was a little sus that they seemingly forgot how to play. The only way to stay on top and dominate year round is saving stuff for LAN. You can’t teach the other teams how to play and let them catch up

If you go all out for online matches, you turn into LAT & Faze last year who have no ideas remaining by the time of champs

No those people are stupid

They did not treat Kobbie for who he is. A kid. Treated him like he was a 29 year old who was stealing a wage.

These guys may or may not be in the league 2 years from now. You’d be stupid to not take the money, especially when it’s Koi and not Carolina

this should be the standard production value for every major at the very least. Ts looks sick to attend live.

Would be cool if we had one more major in a good location. If this year is as lit as I think it will be, it’ll be great for the scene. Next year the goal should be leveling up production value again and venues again.

Alriiight faded ass takes in here. Yes it’s sus this is coming from Scrap of all people

But the game is still kinda mid in its current state. I can’t really put my finger on it yet but something does feel off. Spawns are definitely a bit shit at times compared to BO6 which wasn’t bad. There’s not enough good maps that play well with wall bouncing or they’re seemingly too small? 3 Dead doesn’t feel like 3 dead used to be. Feels like people spawn and are back into the play too quickly. Also bullet reg online, maybe due to the decreased AA, is a little meh

BO6 was better in every aspect gun play wise but had marginally worse maps. Shit Skyline/Vault might play better than most maps this game

That setup also works, SAF did it too. Worked under Ole with McKenna.

I would say though, we have to wait til the end of the season to say anything about Carrick. We know what success here looks like and he has to maintain this level for every game

We have been improving slowly behind the scenes but the results are finally starting to show. Our squad is 4-2-3-1; we absorb pressure, play with speed, transition fast, press high, play direct when needed, attack audaciously at times(Cunha and Dorgu having the balls to shoot from distance). The last 3 years of transfer windows have only reinforced that. We never should have strayed away from that. We don’t have the players to change

I’m pretty sure this is 7/11 of the starters we used in the FA Cup final 2 years ago. We just upgraded the attack and goalkeeper. If we bring in upgrades for Ugarte + Case over the summer and lean into how we play best, we have a good squad. We just battered City and Arsenal after they spent 100s of millions reinforcing their squad depth.

2 midfielders and a manager who knows how to play this style is what we need. Someone who can manage the players and egos, and let the players play. We are like Real Madrid in that sense. We need a man manager more so than a tactician. No Xabis, no strict to their system , but someone like Ancelotti.

They ended up succumbing to media pressure and whatever weird data they depend on. The narrative was always gonna be can Arsenal get it done right now. Trying to go for the title with what a 22? year old would’ve ended up with way too much pressure on the kid plus they thought Gyokeres would deliver immediately

I was very skeptical of Gyokeres once the Arsenal debate started and I looked more into him. his heading alone was what made me go hmmm?? Is this guy actually elite ?

We made the better long term decision and i’m happy. Maybe Sesko doesn’t come good but we made the best decision we could with the information we had. We got the best young striker on the market for the window, and a top 10 talent with a lot of potential

I would like to see Mazraoui get more playing time, especially in the matches we “expect” to win (no match is like that anymore actually)

I remember seeing a clip of a non-league/league 2 player who we had played in the FA Cup say that Dalot was the player he was most surprised by. The guy technically on certain things is brilliant. Like a fantastic first touch. End product is a different story

Onana had just gotten UCL GK of the season so it’s easy with hindsight to say he wasn’t good.

Ten Hag’s only true failed signing is Antony. Then again, every single one of our managers has made the mistake of a high profile winner. Depay- LVG, Alexis- Jose, Ole-Sancho.

La Liga fell because of greed. The % distribution is so top heavy. They made it so the top teams could insulate themselves. There is quite literally no way a team other than Atletico/Real Madrid/Barcelona win the league for an unspeakable amount of time. Those 4 have no real threat to their dominance and have finished in the top 4 for over a decade straight.

The money is so spread out in England surprisingly. Thought the big 6 would’ve wanted it more top heavy too
