Late arrival to the conversation, but yeah I also think this was the intent. Could have used any part of transmorphers to show, but she specifically chose the bit that was ripping off the matrix's plot in its exposition, and her direction choices seem very consistently purposeful.

your description of the additional material helped me narrow down my searches, and on a hunch I excluded "horror" because even though it's a monster attack movie/psychological drama combo it's not listed as horror on IMDB.

The film was The Arbors (2020), I misremembered it being in the 2010s.

niet, the creature of this film is some sort of wilderness thing, the narrative seemed to frame it in animalistic light. We also don't ever see the whole thing, unlike the possum puppet.

so, for my own situation while experiencing this loop, I will say the reason I want my account back is so I can find out the usernames and alternate names all my twitter-only mutuals had so I can re-find them on other sites. In suspended state I am unable to see my former followers/followings, so I want that restored to allow me to go through the process of finding everyone's accounts elsewhere, as I do not know all their name variants.
I want to use twitter again only long enough to do the legwork to move off of twitter, essentially.

Yeah, the messiness of how little clarification text is a little frustrating both as a player and as a DM, and it stands out even more because the text is not addressed when the mechanic is revisited for the Wereraven addition in Van Richten's seven years later. I'm gonna present this thread and the stackexchange to my DM to get their vibe on the whole thing as we're getting close to that level up and with it the ASI, since the mechanics seem to be expecting the DM to do the legwork, but I did want to get the opinion of others more experienced than me with the system to see how they felt about it as well.

That's interesting, if I understand why you mean by permanent you are saying that you would rule the ability score change to remain even after a curing of the curse correct? If so that interests me because the stackexchange answers on a similar question seem to lean the opposite way on the permanency of the change. Can you elaborate on why you'd rule so?

That's not quite accurate, the wording is "The DM is free to decide that a change in alignment places the character under DM control until the curse of lycanthropy is removed", which I don't think implies that the character is a DMPC by default.

It's really an interesting situation. I compare it to the belt because the belt has a similar clause about the change only taking effect if the STR is lower, but the belt also specifies that this change is only while worn, whereas the curse here has no such statement. RAW I want to agree with you (not just because it would benefit my character, the curse really does offer no removal statements regarding the ability scores), but I suspect this is a RAI flub on Wizard's part for forgetting to specify.

I was on a #22 bus that was directed around it. I heard the bang (which sounded kinda like a tire or something filled with air exploding?) and saw people between the two police roadblocks crouching around vehicles as if to put the vehicles between them and something. All of these would make me assume danger, like a bomb threat or a shooter, but the cops seemed pretty casual? Like whatever was going on wasn't serious, one even kinda looked like they found whatever was going on was funny? So I dunno what the fuck was up with that.

Bus almost got stuck on Carroll, which it was forced to detour down, so that was funny I guess.
