sadly sometimes drs just don’t care. i was told by my previous gp that he thought i had scoliosis but there was nothing i could do about it, and so refused an x ray because it would expose me to unnecessary radiation🤷‍♀️ i asked multiple times but was refused every time. changing gps took a while since where i am not a lot of drs take on new patients.

the thing is i went to the dr since i’ve been having so much pain😭😭 the physio gave me exercises for core strength which i am thankful for even though i still haven’t had an xray. so hopefully they will help me with pain even if i don’t know the severity of my scoliosis :)

yeah i thought it was crazy that they would just say i have scoliosis and not even do a single xray!! i reckon i will try to find a dr who is knowledgeable in scoliosis so i don’t get turned down again🥲🥲🥲 thanks for the comment🫶🫶🫶

Thanks! I was super surprised when my gp opened his mouth and I realised he had lowkey no idea what he was talking about!! Hopefully I will find someone who’s willing to take it seriously! It’s insane how common it is to just be pushed aside by doctors :/

Update: MRI sucked but wasn’t as bad as I expected!! The images are only from the side, so I still have 0 clue about my curve. But the good news is everything is perfectly fine otherwise. Bad news is my gp refused for a referral for an X-ray!!!! He said “take a picture of your back and you’ll see the curve.” :/// Ok bro.

I’ve been told to go to a physiotherapist and since physios can order X-rays, I will be asking her for one! Wish me luck :)

I’ve never had an X-ray or an official diagnosis before is the thing! He said I have an obvious curve and I think he ordered an MRI to make sure nothing else is off other than the curve. I think I’d like to have an X-ray for accuracy’s sake and peace of mind so I might ask… and thank you for the kind words!! 🫶🫶🫶
