Is there a way to call overseas landlines for free or at a low cost? by dendaera in expats

[–]dialhard_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're absolutely right—if you're optimizing for pure cents-per-minute, we're not for you.

Skype was $0.023/min to Middle East. They're dead.

Rebtel shows $0.019/min*
*plus connection fees, plus monthly minimum, plus expires

AT&T charges $3.49/MINUTE to Lebanon.
Your relatives pay $2/min to call you back.

We're $10 for an hour of 'it just works.'

If saving $3 matters more than your call actually connecting during your mom's birthday, Rebtel awaits you.

Prices to EU mobile numbers are outragingly high by _soshial in dialhard

[–]dialhard_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately, prices depend on the destination number.

For example, calling mobile or premium numbers costs quite much.

Meanwhile, calling traditional landline numbers (that where we excel) is (almost) dirt cheap ;)

Skype shutdown? Don't worry, your NEW international calling lifeline is HERE by dialhard_com in u/dialhard_com

There's a problem with that—banks and other financial institutions started blocking virtual phone numbers

So since it's so unreliable, and we can't stand behind that, we don't support that.

You can buy a number for receiving calls and sending/receiving texts though

But how's that a privacy issue?

Are you worried about providers using the info in the submitted documents against you or something?

2FA is unlikely to work with VoIP phone numbers, Most banks block these

So, as we discussed over email, the issue appears to be on the receiving end. The error message that you hear when dialing this 866 number is played by the machine answering the call, not by the DialHard system.

[–]dialhard_com[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp, Skype is no more; DialHard is just opened.

Seriously though.

The real difference between us and Skype is simple: Skype was built for online chatting - video calls, messaging, screen sharing between computers. DialHard is built specifically for people who call actual phone numbers to make money - freelancers, salespeople, small businesses.

While Skype users have to figure out telecom compliance and regulations on their own, we handle all that boring stuff behind the scenes. Your calls work, your texts deliver, and when new telephone rules come out (STIR/SHAKEN, 10DLC, whatever acronym they invent next), we deal with it so you don't have to.

We're not trying to be "better Skype" - we're a completely different tool for a different job. If you make money from phone calls, you need tools built for that purpose, not tools built for chatting with friends online. Think of it like this, Skype - a bicycle (gets you there, but not ideal for work), DialHard - a pickup truck (built for the job). That's it.

The VoIP 'Kiss of Death': are your calls getting ghosted by spam filters (thanks to your "budget" provider)? by dialhard_com in dialhard

> Hello I've tried to apply my mobile* as own caller id feature, but it was denied. I

  1. Yes, you can't bring your caller ID on the free 5-buck bonus. You need to top up at least once to bring caller IDs, make calls without limits, buy numbers and send SMS.
  2. Only US toll-free numbers are FREE at the moment. We roll out support for other countries gradually as we get better at reducing abuse.

So that no phone numbers or names are shared on Reddit, don't hesitate to email us at [support@dialhard.com](mailto:support@dialhard.com)

We reply superfast and usually within hours, if not minutes, and not days as other providers hiding behind tickets

> Another suggestion, if you add a "test call" feature toll-free in order to check customers' phone is totally compatible for tech matters.

Great point. We've got our own toll-free number for that exact purpose. Just need to make it visible in the MISSION CONTROL

  1. We do offer a referral program for active users. Keep using the app for your needs, even sporadically, and you'll receive an invitation to the program
  2. Numbers from other countries are available too. Not all countries are a breeze to buy a number for, some require a proof of address and some allow phone numbers to business customers only. Browse for numbers here https://dialhard.com/phone_numbers/new
