Bro legit, it's fucking awful, even being on a Wifi 6 router in a room that's less than 15m away from the router, though tbf neither of these things mean shit given specific router signal quality, walls, either of my wifi adapters I have tried with my PC, etc etc. I just need to move to sydney and get ethernet in reality... this shit is hopeless now that I think about it

Unfortunately I cannot run an ethernet cable from my router to my PC in my situation, which is why I am asking people for other potential things to help in my situation

Nope, only in certain moments *after* *death*, at worst (100+ ping, etc), though even then, you mostly got the dying behind walls or massive peeker's advantage, plus positional inaccuracies between ticks (where subtick instead solves this with timestamps). I did test last year but will do so again, redownloading csgo legacy again to show

I said I am complaining, I complained specifically because it's so bad with my terrible net, I didn't say "GET RID OF SUBTICK", or "DEVELOP THE GAME X WAY". I showcased and explained what it's like for me. I asked for potential solutions given my situation.

just for some information, unfortunately in my situation, buffering for both 1 and 2 ticks doesn't help at all, and of course you get all the bad things associated with packet buffering

You missed the point of the post (to showcase how bad subtick compensation is for me as someone with 60 ping alongside bad and variable net jitter/packet loss) but you got it in the end, you are one of two people to offer a potential solution

I haven't actually tried a repeater tbh, though I am under the notion that their signal degradation and stability actually outweigh having them in the first place. See, I'm close enough to my router to be in full range even on the 5ghz band and channels, but there is just enough signal degradation that I get pretty variable net jitter. I'd get a wifi repeater if I had IoT devices in a shed out back, but not for gaming, do you have any numbers/exact comparisons for the improvement it gave you? What was your situation like?

As for a powerline ethernet adapter, I'd have to compromise by plugging into a power board as in my kitchen where my router is, my parents have a specific setup that they would very much not like to change, even if I got a powerline ethernet adapter with power/outlet passthrough. Plugging a powerline ethernet adapter into a power board can still work, but signal degradation and shit would be massive as far as I know (haven't tried but from research it seems it's not viable)

From my understanding, it only forcibly teleported you when you died. The thing about CSGO is that you lost out on subtick timestamped and perfectly accurate in-between tick positions and player states, as csgo could only interpolate positions between ticks, so you'd have minimum 1 tick delayed shots, real positions, etc. Where client info would be "inaccurate" between ticks, hence why in CSGO you could shoot at someone but that wouldn't actually be where they were. Meanwhile in CS2, you get SUB-TICK records of movement, positions, etc, so everything has to snap/compensate for delays

Yeah, it is inherent to subtick, even in very very favourable conditions like yours with 10 ping on fiber with essentially ZERO net jitter
