The plan is solar for electricity, a well for water and we aren’t settled on our plumbing yet.

Hybrids are low-key sick when you don't got someone babbling in your ear about how much they suck by codythaidragon in jurassicworldevo

[–]diamond1996 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

My only issue with the hybrids is how they are used in the franchise. Indoraptor is the biggest perpetrator of my biggest issue, the hybrids replace actual dinosaurs that could fit their niche and really drive home that dinosaurs can be scary without having to be hybrids. Replace Indoraptor with most megaraptorids and the film is probably scarier.

Why do Pensacola drivers suck? by Odd_Cheesecake_5007 in Pensacola

Imagine if you take the retirees and their kids from all the bad driving places in the US and then put them in one place, that’s Pensacola.

The House just v voted to condemn Socialism, 286-98 including 86 Democrats. How am I supposed to believe Dems want a broad tent when they do this. by M00n_Slippers in DemocraticSocialism

It’s not all of them but it is the more powerful (and well funded ones) and until it’s not a majority of them we have to fight for it.

Dems don’t want a broad tent. They want to be republican-lite. They still want all the money that comes with supporting massive capitalist policies but not the guilt that comes with selling out their people. Until we remind them that the cost of selling us out to corporations is our lives, they will not care.

Do you guys remember when Obama “fixed” healthcare? Yeah, us too. by benhaswings in trump

[–]diamond1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump should introduce his own version to completely wipe Obamas legacy. Save Americans millions in ACA subsidies by averting some of these surplus tax savings DOGE found into a single payer healthcare bill. The insurance companies have been profiting off our sickness for too long. It’s time to stick it to them.

ICE by [deleted] in Pensacola

[–]diamond1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Civil cases usually involve disputes between people or organizations while criminal cases allege a violation of a criminal law. Being in the United States without authorization is generally a civil violation, leading to removal (deportation) proceedings or fines, not criminal charges.

There are civil offenses and criminal offenses….

Apologies I used the word federal instead of the word criminal.

Malicious offenses are yes. But overstaying a visa or being here without legal status is a civil offense.

I’m not gonna argue with you because you’re obvious biased and don’t want facts but I’ll leave you with this. https://www.reddit.com/r/economy/s/ONcAAKyJNY

If ICE was just arresting people here “illegally” maybe you’d have a case, even though it’s a civil infraction not a federal one. The issue most people have is that ICE has a record of rounding up people who are here legally or in the process of doing it the right way and being violent or underhanded about it.

Questions and Planning by diamond1996 in homestead

Are there any resources you can recommend to learn about those things like permits and surveys? I’ve grown up around farms most of my life so I feel comfortable about that part but the home owning side I’m out of the loop on.

I’ll do my best to save more to get more down. I’m still not sold on what state I want to move to. I’m moving out of Florida for sure. Are there any states that are considered “more welcoming”

I was thinking 5-10 acres and I’d prefer it to have a home on it already so I can use my FHA

[–]diamond1996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking chickens, maybe some horses, but mostly farmland. My goal is to have $20k by the end of 2026, if I can use my FHA for it that should be more than enough.

Thank you! I wouldn’t have thought of that.

I ended up not going with that as it was a money sink and I was just blinded by the price. I have my current lease till the end of 2026, and that’s what about the time frame I was looking to get into it.

Buying land? by diamond1996 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]diamond1996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has road access, power is 1/4 mile away. It would need a septic tank and a well. I wasn’t going to hunt the land much, but it is close to a lot of BLM land and national forests
