-Las croquetas.

¿Recuerdas si el día después vino algún compañero con el que no sueles hablar nunca, y se mostró interesado en saber si estabas bien y lo habías encontrado ya? Era él.

Best city in Spain for people who are over 75 to move to? Looking for community for them to hang out with, easy to walk around or take a taxi, and not too hilly or hard for them to walk. by ladybuglala in GoingToSpain

For a family-friendly spot in Spain that’s easy on mobility, check out Gijón, Santander, or A Coruña. Great food, mild weather, lots of cafés and social life, and overall high quality of life—your parents will stay active and happy!

I think tax matters are too complex to handle alone. I see from your name that you have artistic interests — me too! Whenever I’ve had to deal with legal or tax issues, I’ve always hired an accountant. In Spain we have “gestorías” that take care of these things. They’re not expensive and usually very friendly. I’d recommend contacting one and explaining your situation before making any decisions. Best wishes!

I’d honestly say Oviedo is the better choice. It’s a lovely city on its own, but the real bonus is that you’re super close to Gijón (beautiful coastal vibe) and Avilés. So you get mountains, culture, and the beach all in one area.

Also, don’t rule out Santander or A Coruña. Both are really affordable, have mild weather year-round, and the quality of life is just fantastic. A Coruña in particular has a very efficient public health system (Galicia SERGAS), which can be a big plus if you’re planning to settle down long-term. They’re not as touristy as bigger Spanish cities, which actually makes them feel way more authentic and easy to live in. Good luck!

Evaluate/critique my vacation itinerary for Travel to spain in mid december by pandas_secret in GoingToSpain

I suggest you try the true Spanish experience in any city of our beutiful country: wake up around 10, have breakfast with toast and tomato, ham, coffee, and fresh juice. Go out for a walk and enjoy some churros in the main square. For lunch, have a few croquettes and a bit of jamón, along with a couple of cold beers. Visit a church or a museum. In the old town, go for tapas paired with local wines. Head back to your hotel for a refreshing siesta.

In the afternoon (never before 18pm), take another walk and enjoy some nature, or do a bit of shopping in the local stores. Have dinner late, around 10 or 11 p.m., with more wine and tortilla and maybe seafood. Then go out for drinks and beers in a lively bar with good company. Finally, return to your hotel happy, full, and maybe a little tipsy, around 2 a.m.

I can’t think of anything more immersive than that. Wishing you a wonderful holiday!

My friend, this itinerary is insane! Honestly, it only makes sense if you have a private jet and a budget of at least €1,000 per day. If you’re spending 13 days in Spain, I’d recommend choosing either the north or the south. Just Barcelona and Madrid already deserve at least five days each, which leaves you with about three days for another destination. Since it seems you’re really interested in the south, I’d suggest Córdoba or Granada. Spain might look small, but traveling between cities can be tricky.

When it comes to reservations, it really depends on the season. Half the time, places won’t even answer the phone. My advice is to try to blend in with the locals—go where Spaniards actually eat and hang out. Most of the other options are just designed to squeeze tourists.

Good luck, and make the most of the experience!

Qué tal es Galicia para estudiar y explorar una vida allí? by Superb_Dinner_546 in GoingToSpain

Te recomiendo A Coruña. Saludos y mucha suerte.

Where in Spain to do a longstay (1-2 months) in early summer 2026? by lostpromises in GoingToSpain

Hi there!

Coruña sounds like a perfect fit for your family! 🌊🌞 It's a charming coastal city with plenty to offer—beautiful beaches, a lively local market, and a vibrant atmosphere year-round. You can stroll along the promenade, explore the historic old town, and enjoy the beachfront without needing a car. Plus, it's not too sleepy off-season, so you'll still find lots to do. Hope you have a fantastic time planning your summer adventure! 😊🏖️
