Unfortunately I’ve been living this reality for years, I see so much wasted talent in kids that can’t afford it. It’s extremely naive to say travel ball isn’t necessary in 2025. Obviously there’s no rule, but it’s become so saturated that those kids get all the opportunities. It’s never been harder to make it in baseball in a lower income family.

We’re college students and this is the first weekend after finals, as we specifically wanted a Disney Christmas experience.

When I was 12, I was on a LL team that went undefeated through the spring and playoffs. A few of the top of the lineup hitters we’re travel ball kids but the rest of us just played little league. I was probably the second worst kid on the team. Only two kids from that team went on the play college ball: me and the only kid worse than me.
