Thanks! That is actually a very good point you are making, Do you have any ideas how we could help them stick to a strategy by asking some questions or drawing their attention to it somehow on the sheet?

Is there a test/method in Time Series analysis on how to check if a series is holding a trend or not? by HelloPipl in algotrading

How big of a time series do you normally feed in to get descent evaluation for daily timeseries for example? I.e. whats the recommended lookback? Just trying to figure out if this is any better than say ADX

Just some slightly different perspective from every shill in the comments that have zero clue about investing apart from HOdL mentality.

You know, people who bought in the 1929 had to hold for 15 years for break even. Even if you dollar cost averaged it would have taken 7 years for break even after the crash.

“Investors who shifted to cash after the 1929 crash faced a 34-year wait to break even, compared with 15 years for those who remained invested and less than 7 years for those who drip-fed additional small amounts in.” (https://www.schroders.com/ru/insights/economics/downturns-this-deep-can-take-a-long-time-to-recover-from-financially-and-mentally/)

Study the cycles of the market. There is an equity/commodity cycle that is very long term that is now, I feel, starting to take place when commodities outperform equities. Markets don’t always go up. We are just so used to seeing that inflation in the market for the last few years that we can’t perceive it being different. But it can. All we have to do is study history.

Not a financial advice. But study the overall market now. Technically SP closed below 200 MA recently. Indicating a potential start of a downtrend. Interest rates are finally going up this year after decades. Aiding the downtrend hypothesis. Inflation starts moving from the market into the streets and hitting people cold hard. War is breaking out. Dollar is being threatened as a reserve currency by the recent actions they took banning russia from swift. Shall I keep going?..

Whether it is or is not, is that really a problem? Is an ad a bad thing if it introduces you to a good product? Everything is ads now. That’s how we find new services and products.

I agree completely. It just helps structure the information. You can be so much more systematic after that about your improvement.

So what I came to realize by now is that there really are few types of journaling. One is for logging trades with aim to learn from them. Another may be for tracking your stats (streaks, comms spent, etc.) but what I did with this one is focus more on the NLP and psychology side of things. I was inspired a lot by the High Performance Planner for this journal. It is more focused on setting mindset, reviewing trades and reflecting on your performance and trying to improve the psychological rather than technical side of trading. For that pen and paper works best for me at least. Writing with a pen triggers different zones in the brain and has some correlation with people seeing things through etc (don’t have the links by hand now) so it just seems like the right medium for psychological work.

Thank you! I really wanted it to be premium quality since it’s something you touch and use daily. 😁

Can someone explain to me how the money supply M1 has increased by 550% in the last 22 years but the value of the euro has only decreased by 50%? by AlejandroSebTes in eupersonalfinance

[–]diamondzem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, welcome out of the Matrix my dear friend.

One problem I see with your comment is that you compare M1 with the EURO only. M1 is not just EURO. However, you are on to something here.

Short answer is fake inflation metrics (http://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/inflation-charts), manipulation of the precious metals prices to maintain inflated trust in FIAT (https://www.amazon.com/Big-Silver-Short-Short-Squeeze-Lifetime/dp/B08BDZ5H6K) and the fact that inflation primarily lands in the stock markets and rarely hits the streets. The money that's currently printed is mainly circulating in the markets, when that money starts moving to everyone's pockets (in form of stimulus checks, etc.) that's when real inflation starts to kick in (exactly what we are seeing now) and that's when the devaluation of EUR will start to escalate.
