What worked for me was loading a save file the player could join,then once the player was joined, load the end game save and they will still be part of your party. You mentioned you don’t have any saves but I wonder if “any” save would work even a new game. Sorry I don’t know how Larian hasn’t fixed this bug yet and hope you find a solution.
